Mario Kart Wii is the most fun I've had playing Mario Kart since the 64 version, I believe. All the tracks as great fun, and the motorcycles are a nice touch.

Music is great, too. I really like this game. And best of all, the online racing is LAG-FREE. I've never encountered a single problem on it. It rocks.

If enough people get it, we can have a Magonian Mario Kart Wii League.

That would be cool. I don't have Mario Kart yet, tho.
I will eventually. In a not too distant future.

Unfortunately I'm not making enough money right now. After bills and the like, I only have $150 to my name each month.

I was thinking that maybe I'd wait till more magonians picked it up. But I'm pretty sure that is the same boat alot of people are in. So instead, I'll pick it up tomorrow... giving others reason to get it. *nudges DP, Nex, and Dray*

Maybe that'll motivate a few more members to also pick it up.

I just got it (before I read your post, Lantis), after finding out that I am financially secure enough to afford it after all. I'll post my code here for now:
1719-4176-1495

Offhand, I like Double Dash better, on account of the potential for co-op play. The Wii Wheel is still fun to use, though, and I'm sure it'll get better once I get into the faster and more fantic difficulty levels.

Speaking of difficulty, MK Wii's Rainbow Road is undeniably the most difficult Rainbow Road yet. Even more difficult than the original. In every race in MK Wii, I managed 1st place. Until I got to this Rainbow Road. Then I landed in 10th place, which knocked me back to 2nd overall. :o Then again, I managed to get that first back on my second try, so maybe I just needed to learn the layout of the turns.

I'm also a bit disappointed in the simplistic drift boosts. I liked it better tapping the directional pad/stick. But I'll accept it, on account it's likely Nintendo's way of preventing "snaking".

I really was out of the loop for this one. I didn't know until I started the game that MK Wii has retro courses like MKDS. I like what they did with the N64 courses. They look so much nicer, now. Especially Bowser's Castle.

Speaking of Bowser's Castle, is it just me, or has the castle become more and more elaborate with every Mario Kart? Except for maybe the GBA game.

I got the game last week. All I've really done is play online, since single player is so cheap. (Going from first to last right before the finish line in 50cc is just retarded.)

I'll post my friend code in a while, I haven't checked it yet.

I'm not too bad in 100cc, but Rainbow Road is nuts. I got last place because of all the stupid turns and that one huge jump that is near the end of the track. One thing I don't like is getting pelted by blue shells 4 times in a single race, especially when they hit me with a red shell then a lightning bolt afterward.

I just got back from trying to pick it up... and of course, it is sold out. I'll have to go out of town to a game stop or something. So I'll be this weekend...

stupid walmart.

I did... actually, a friend of mine was working and after we confirmed it's not being there, spent a good time talking in hopes that it would materialize.

The Wal-Mart I got my copy from was being sold in a separate area than all the other Wii games. Had its own dedicated case off to the side. The big clue was that none of the price stickers in the Wii section had any sort of mentioning of Mario Kart Wii on them.

I rented Mario Kart this weekend, so we could play with some friends at my house (yay at keeping all my GC controllers!) And since I received some money I wasn't expecting at all, I might be getting it sooner than later :)

Heh, I was never any good with Mario Kart.
Though the only, very single game that I can brag about being really good on is a racing game. F-Zero, all the GBA incarnations. But no one wants to know that.
I find it kinda interesting how the gaming companies do exactly what you expect them to do. Nintendo is, after all these years, still the king of family entertainment and bizarre innovations.

Heh, yeah, I know the feeling. The good thing is that the same thing can happen to the CPU. In other Mario Karts, your rival was consistently placing first (or second if you placed first) while here they can be royally screwed way more often. And you can also get back from 12th to 1st quickly with a few lucky items.
Mmm.. luck... skills are not enough in this game.

What I hated more than anything else was when playing multi player in like double dash... someone behind you would get three red shells... throw one at you, and after you stop rolling, throw the second. And even then, manage to stay beind you long enough to dump there last shell on you. It's just too obnoxious to stand.

Wait, are you complaining about being able to get hit by three red shells, or are you complaining about how possible it is to get so far ahead that the person behind you actually has to use all three on you?
