Post any song from video game soundtracks you like (songs that have lyrics BTW.)

I have to give the beastie boyz, Eminem and to a lesser extent Afroman, for turning me on to rap. Used to hate the stuff, with Honkey-Tonk Country"Rock," Barely beating it out for shear auditory revulsion. But after hearing some actualy GOOD examples of the craft, I've changed my mind. (Won't happen for "Country"* I ASSURE YOU) I usually like a rap song with a message other than "look how many asses I busted a cap in today" or "Check out my bling; ain't it PURDY???", so when I find one of those rare gems of pure song writing I tend to latch on and let it take me for a ride. Such is the case with the joint I heard in my recently acquired copy of Tony Hawk's Underground 2. The Artist is a slightly obscure rapper by the name of Grand Puba, but what he lacks in recognition he makes up for in his godly ability to lay down beats and rhyme seemingly at will in what seems like a normal conversation realized in song. What surprised me most about this song is it's age. It sounds so fresh, I thought that it was new when the game came out in 04' or at the very least was only a couple of years older than that.

It was written in 1994. :o

I suppose the reason this artist isn't more recognized is because he must be LIGHT YEARS ahead of the curve stylistically.

So here is the song ->http://youtube.com/watch?v=loq5D9u4nZo .
Post up songs you heard in video games you liked.

*said with the understanding that old country music (i.e., Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Dolly Pardon, etc.) is nothing like new "country music." (i.e., Billy Ray Cyrus, Garth Brooks, and I'd list more BUT I DON'T LISTEN TO IT SO I DON'T KNOW OR CARE WHO THE "ARTISTS" ARE.)[/url]

I like Radical Dreamers from Chrono Cross:

Old-school rap is some of the greatest stuff on earth. The new-age commercial stuff is trash and maybe one good song once in a while.

Most of the video game music I like are instrumental scores, not song soundtracks, but the ones that come to mind are the gibberish version of Black Eyed Peas "Let's get retarded" for Urbz sims in the city and the beautiful song for the credits of Shadow Hearts Covenant.

However in my video game (lyric song soundtrack) experience, NOTHING beats the early days of playing Crazy Taxi to The Offspring's "All I Want".

You do realize that "Radical Dreamers" is actually the first Chrono game, right? That makes Trigger the second, and Cross the third. This song kind of tributes to it.

Anyway, this one is a definate must hear. It's the end credits to Xenogears entitled "Small Two of Pieces". I couldn't find any video with just a still image. So it's a bit of an AMV, so if you've never played it, it my have spoilers.

MGS2 Boss theme. Big Shell is the title me thinks.

Ah, I played "You're Not Here" on DDR. Pretty good song.

Aren't we suppose to be posting lyrical songs?

Devil May Cry 4:Out of Darkness
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBm1SrTl850

I find this to be very pretty for a game as action packed as a Devil May Cry game.

Devil May Cry 4: Shall Never Surrender
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL8vLtyeU7Y

This is actually a re-made song from a previous DMC title.

@Rantis, I never knew that. That's quite cool, actually.

Oh, this is good:

You're Not Here from Silent Hill 3.

"You're Not Here" is definitely a good one, Ix. It's playing during the credits was a nice note to settle the pain of seeing the film's truly godawful ending just before they started rolling.

"The Sky, Because You Are There", from Wild Arms: http://youtube.com/watch?v=KCBFRQggYhQ

... I think the lyrics say it best that this is definitely an SK kind of song. *flashes anime-style victory hand gesture*

You sure? I could have swore that it was the second. I guess I'll look into it again.

Out of Darkness was a pretty good song, but it was a bad idea for them to force you to listen to it for 30 minutes while it loads then the first thing you hear when you begin the game.

Shall Never Surrender is pretty badass.

Remake of my favorite track from FFX. With lyrics. Ended up pretty well, I believe.

This.

The whole CC OST is something I absolutely love to pieces, and would probably keep over any other VG OST.

Oh yeah, CC's music kicks some huge ass.

Emphasis to Radical Dreamers and that song from the intro (pure epicness).
