Kinda odd how oftentimes we think poorly of a game that others hold in high regard. Feel free to share your own opinions.

Grandia:
If your even remotely tired of cliche ridden anime RPGs, stay far away from this one. The characters are so damn boring and upbeat. And the story is not really there (go from one place to another). To make things worse, it's a friggin' expensive game. For half the price you'd pay for it, you could be playing a better game.

Conker's Bad Fur Day:
Someone please explain the appeal in this title...I Find nothing. The game seems aimed at mature people who don't play many videogames...and how many of thm are there? Nothing here outshines previous Rare games.

Legend of Dragoon:
Everyone's entitled to their opinion. However, this is by far the most overrated game I can think of. The characters are cliche and never really interesting (and the dialogue is just terrible), the graphics are awful most of the time, the sound makes my ears bleed. Nothing at all worthwhile. (not to mention some of the worst usage of FMV. Why does the FMV in this game rock, only to be used in extremely boring storytelling?)

Fresh of fresh air:
Tales of the Abyss
Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits

Mostly Zelda. I've played a couple, but I really don't see anything great about it.

Kindom Hearts (I and II):
I've tried my best to get into these games. But for some reason, I have always ened up losing intrest before I could really get into it. I guess that it's because I'm not much of a disney fan and all the Final fantasy content seems so.... random. I mean, why do I want a game that has Squall AND Cloud in it? Ah well.

Grand Theft Auto (from 3 and up):
Read this thread.

Sims (ANY Sim title):
Okay, why do I want to play a game that's based off of real life? And poorly at that. I don't care how well you can customize a house. That doesn't make it a good game. It seems like whenever I call the sim's out on being a sh*tty game, people always respond with, "Well, I just like to make the houses and then killl the people." Yeah, I'm sure. There is nothing fun about wathing your bladder level and/or pissing the floor... and then cleaning it up. Yay, a game were you can pay bills! That's AWESOME. On second though... no, that's acutally really gay. And I really would prefer keeping the fantasy world of video games and the ever so depressing real word completely separated, thank you very much.

(Generally all sports games):
I've never found games where the entire purpose of the game is to just get more points than the opposite team. I get bored with them 5 minutes tops. Basketball, football, baseball... they are complete wastes of time. I don't care if you can do leagues or whatever, it's still just the same damn thing over and over again. There's no story or character development. Maybe if they made a sports game that was kind of like a sports movie. You know, you get to know the players and they have a reason to win other than just to win. That would be really interesting. Take the later Tony Hawk games. They started adding a single player story mode... this was around the time I kind of gave up on the Tony Hawk games, but I will say that it was a step in the right direction. Sports games are ONLY slightly amusing if you are playing with friends.

Duck Hunt:
This game really was the most annoying piece of garbage to ever hit the gaming community. The light gun wasn't made for this game... the game was developed to try out their new toy. Besides, no one EVER played right and probably has scratches all across their parent's TV from keeping the barrel of the gun on it all atll times to make the game easier. And I can't really blame people for that though, because hearing that dog laugh at you for missing makes me want to commit seppuku every damn time. The only reason it was liked as much as it was, 1: Because it was one of the first games released in 8 bit along side of Mario and, 2: Because this was the first home console to use a light gun and EVERYONE thought using a gun in games was uber awesome.

Dragon Quest 8:
A good ways back there was a thread that described in detail my loathe for this game. I looked for and and couldn't find it... but the shortened version was that there was so little focus on the storyline and there was so much stupid petty errand running that it just drowned the game. I think my example was a quote from an FAQ to follow the main antagonist over seas. You know, get a boat and just follow him. It was probably the longest quoted text the Mag has ever seen. I almost wasn't able to finish the game due to this.

I don't know what it is, but I hate this game. I got to the last battle, but quit because it was so random. The only reason I got that far was because I bought the game before I played it and I always get my moneys worth when I buy something. None of the characters stood out for me except Betrix. I think the biggest problem I had with it was the graphics.

I agree with sports games for the most part unless it's multiplayer. Then the fun comes from trash talking.

Halo:
I just don't like it! It's nothing new and I liked Goldeneye 64 better anyways.

Great topic.

You know, I absolutely loved FIFA 99. It was a pure learning experience of soccer on so many levels and it was far more immersive than many storyline games that I played, but they stripped down so much of FIFA's control and kept the AI with cheap tactics so that now I can't stomach putting up with all the bullshiz that FIFA is able to put out year after year and that people for some reason still say is good gameplay.

I don't really like games that have Mario in them.

I didn't like the demo that I played of Half-Life 2 for as good as it is supposed to be.

Couldn't really get into Gran Turismo 3.

Wasn't impressed with Guitar Hero.

Don't like a ton of 3rd person shooters or real time rpgs.

... I don't know of anyone who actually liked that ridiculous aardvark of a game, though, Duel. I think it dropped even faster than his attempted rap career.

.... I am glad that somebody finally mentioned Duck Hunt. That game is just stupid and pointless.

But speaking of stupid and pointless, ... and awkward and lame as well, there is Diablo 2 for the PSX. What was so great about this game? The graphics and sound were bland, the loading times were undgodly, and the whole point of it all just made me wonder why the heck i was even bothering to play. Some nameless hero (one of three possible choices, if I remember correctly) wanders around the same town - a very small town full of dumb hicks, may I add - throughout the game's entirety, while wandering into a dungeon set in the middle of town every so often to see if he/she has become strong enough to make it down to the next level, and thus one step closer to some equally nameless demon, who is supposed to the Devil or something, waiting at the darkest depths of the dungeon scheming to come up and destroy the entire town or whatever.

... This is not a game. It's just stupid.

I apologize in advance for my highly critical and opinionative ways.

That is, actually, Diablo 1.

Diablo II is the sequel, it's for PC (and Mac yay), and it's nothing like you described (there are 5 cities and a colossal number of dungeons, 7 character classes, and hundreds of items – just to name a few differences). It's an awesome game that has no plot whatsoever but one of the best gameplays to ever hit the stores. I'll argue with anyone that DII (and its subsequent expansion) is one of the best games, ever. So much that it got outdated years ago and it still has a fan base strong as hell.

Though I can't say anything about D1, never played that one.

D1 was, in fact, terribad.

D2 is, and probably will be for a long time, an amazing game.

I liked DI on the PSX because it was multiplayer, and I would play it with my brothers, which was fun.

Diablo 2 will always be awesome, in fact, I'll go play it now.

Wario Ware (GC)

It wasn't interactive enough and too easy. I enjoyed the one for Wii, though.
