Not sure of it's reliablility, but it seems NIS is looking to move some support to DS with ports of their strategy titles, such as Disgaea and Rhapsody.

Personally, the news disappoints me if only because I dropped the cash for the original versions. But I'm glad to see some NIS Nintendo support.

I can't stand the Disgaea style of play. So many stats make my brain hurt.

Shining Force and Fire Emblem are where it's at.

You sadden me...

*weeps*

In lighter note, it looks like it'll either be the original Disgaea or the same game that's already our for PSP "Disgaea - Afternoon of Darkness"

Don't beat yourself over getting the original version though, it's still worth every penny.

Hmm.. I haven't played Disgaea, but I'm VERY interested in doing so. (
I only played Phantom Brave, which had Laharl and some other characters as secret characters
)

Disgaea is definitely the best in the NIS series IMO. I doubt they will ever be able to make a better game. It's a classic for sure.

Does anyone else here like La Pucelle? Even though it doesn't have all of the customization that other NIS titles have it's my second favorite next to Disgaea. I guess that's because it was my first NIS game.

I love La Pucelle. It's been so long since I've been through it. SK actually played through it not too terribly long ago. He actually powered up Homard's fairy (I can't remember the spelling of her name... somthing that sounds like "Pappayon") to high enough level to be able to participate in the cave of trials.

It's been a while since I've played it too, but if I remember right that fairy has insanely low HP. Sounds pretty hardcore to level her up that much.

Lmao, I thik she litterally starts off with 8 HP. And by that time in the game, enemies are hitting for almost 100, if not more.

She'll level up like 4 times just for being a part of an attack even if she didn't kill anything. So you pretty much have to have her pick up chump exp and outfit her with the absolute best equipment you can get your hands on till she gets her levels up to everyone else's.

BTW, Kajak says he's playing a NIS game right now that actually sounded really similar to the Disgaea game mention above... but on PS2. If you looked at any of the screenshots for it, you should have seen a school room. Kajak described it to me quite similarly. He should get his ass in this thread and let me know what's up.

I bet he's talking about Grimgrimoire, another NIS title I really want to play.

I also am in the La Pucelle rules catergory. I enjoy it because it's a bit more simple than Disgaea.

The game I'm actually playing is Mana Khemia, and is actually an installment of the Atalier series, another NIS franchise.

They all have the same look and some of the same feels as the Disgaea set but aren't strategic rpgs.

Still if you're a fan of NIS and like things other than strategy, the atalier series and Mana khemia spedifically give a lot of fun twists and diversions. They even use some of the same voice actors. For instance, Flay, one of the main characters from Mana Khemia is the same voice actor as Gordon from Disgaea.

Anyways, that's that.

I love the graphical style of AI and MK. I'm always a big fan of animeish/cartoonish 2D sprites. I have yet to play any of those titles however. I tend to be quite apprehensive in purchasing ANY new RPGs for some reason. I guess it's because most of the time I'm very unimpressed with what I get (the last thing being FFXII).
