Lots of internets for that line.

If I ever cosplay (which I doubt I'll do), I'd dress as...

as...

as...

*thinks*

Oh my God, I would so dress as the Super Saiyaman (I guess they called him the Great Saiyaman over there).

@Lantis: Thanks for the comment, and also, post your sushi pictures!

Speaking of sushi! Hahah.

I dunno how many of you guys know I take Japanese, however...

Image

Me and my conversation partner, but really, a friend. She left today since she's graduating after 3 years of school here, and will return to Tokyo this summer. It was kind of like losing a cool older sister(she's 33), but really, I was thankful for her time teaching me, and I've become kind of dry towards goodbyes. I wonder if I will get a new conversation partner for Japanese V, but really... I don't think people can be replaced so easily.D:

Damn, 33? I wouldn't have guessed. What was she here for, anyway? Degree?

Okay, so I went a little overboard here:

Okay, so here's Rachael working on the stuff to put on the rice to give it a bit of flavor and make it stick better with the rest of the sushi. The last roll we made we had a hard time cutting. Because of she tried to make the inside-out type... with the nori on the outside.
Image

Here's the stuff for the miso soup. Zomg, tofu? Lol, I bet in purgatory that's like the only thing they serve. It tastes like nothing.
Image

Back to the sushi, we started working on what was actually going to be in it. I started to cut the cucumber and avacado... heh, look. A SSBB refrence. Also, for those curious, we are trying to make a California Roll.
Image

After cooking the rice she got her little bamboo mat (for rolling the sushi) and some nori (dried seaweed). By this time I had already made the wasabi. It was in a very fine powder... but just mixing it with hot water, and magically, you have some really awesome wasabi.
Image

That stuf she made earlier for the rice was then applied and spread evenly over the nori. Then you just pile on whatever's going to be in the roll.
Image

*makes some random Katamari joke here*
Image

Okay, so maybe it would be a horrible katamari as it's more like a log and not a ball... oh well. All that's left is to just cut it and it's done...
Image

By this time the kitchen has become a bit crowded... We still needed to make some fried tempora which is pretty much just fried veggies with some special type of soy sause that Rachael made. I can't quite remember what exactly it was.
Image

While this picture is kind of crappy (like most of these pics actually) you can see some of the already fried veggies.
Image

And there you have it. As authentic as an japanese dinner will get around these parts. Fried Tempora, Miso Soup, Sushi, and rice. Yay...

See, Lantis is a pimp. He keeps the girlies where they belong. :p
Chill. I couldn't eat a single thing in that meal sans the veggies.

She'd have to make me a separate dinner.
Tofu is great.

If it doesn't taste like anything then certainly people can't dislike the taste, but I love tofu.

The dinner looks good.

Say, if he'd asked her, "What do you like to do on the weekend?" and she had answered something like "Going out on the street and kicking some serious random ass while singing the Rocky theme", we'd have a much more interesting set of photos to see now. =3

Also, remember to ask her if she makes yakisoba, and if she does, eat it. With meat. And veggies, if you want.
It's arguably my favorite food.

Soda pop is the best drink in the world and Dr. Pepper is the best soda pop in the world, so I'm not sure what you are talking about.

No.

Just no.

Soda is the worst drink in the world - it doesn't matter what kind it is.

Good point, guys. I had a feeling something was missing up there, but couldn't figure out exactly what it was. Now I remembered.

It's the sake.
You know, the cubic cup used to drink sake? You fill it until it overflows (that's important), then you put some salt on the edge and drink it. No japanese meal is complete without sake.

About her, she had an accounting undergrad degree she worked on, and then switched to the master business major, MBA.

Oh, you'd eat MY SUSHI. WOULDN'T YOU?XD

I actually used to be scared of sushi, but after trying some stuff from ironically enough a chinese restaurant, it isn't that bad. Me and my friends have sushi parties about 5 times a semester- usually ends up being the wimmen making the guys rolls.:p
