I put up a few fights against the teachers and administration. They never really liked seeing me too much afterwards. But hey, that's what I get for being a rebel.

I was bullied a bit. Mostly by elder kids.
The worst it got was an instance where I was chased through the woods neighbouring our school. I was 8 or so. It was dark and I was in a bit of a fervor. Ran into a barbwire fence, was cut up all along my body. Had a crescent scar down my face, as I was about the height of the fence and when I rebounded off of it the tines dug and scraped down my flesh, that would've likely been with me still if I hadn't had a scar-tissue repair ointment my mother made up. When the others found me they proceeded with what they had intended to do. Namely, kicking the sh*t out of me.

Another instance I can recall would be the time I was knocked in the head with a metal baseball bat. Still have that scar, just above my right eye.

Eventually I started carrying a knife to school.
It pretty much halted all bullying from the elders.
I don't actually recall ever being in trouble for it; nor do I recall anyone ever getting in trouble for it.
It was just the way things went at the place, really.

Also, it's interesting how I can get around the ban I asked for when a topic appears in the recently commented section.
*chuckles*

*sigh* what a kid.. it wasn't a 'ban' persay. you just can't see the forum. so of course you can still get in if you really really want to. but you SAID you didn't want to.

My brother was a lot like you kitty - he had kids who would walk across a room just to punch him. Had kids stab him with things in class. Any bully would always be picking on him. I don't really understand that - some people are just like that, people you want to punch for absolutely no reason. o.O

personally i never got in fights, the closest i got to a fight was when someone bumped into me because they hadn't realised that i was standing there.

KK-Wow, KK you have such a harsh childhood. I really deeply symphatize about your situation, hey but gladly all of it worked out in the end right? ^^

But it is luck that i never got bullied many times, there were some times that i was bullied but the teachers always blame the one bulliying me, cuz i was always friends with the teacher and in their eyes i was always Ms. Smart and perfect that they don't dare to punish me >___>

Personally i don't mind if i was being picked on, it really doesn't bother me much but i'l be damn mad if they messed up my study notes that are very, very valuable to me because i have to have it to always be ready for any exams. Like one time i was studying and some group of gangs came up to me calling me names, and i standed up to them and calling them back names. They took my notes and just write all over it, and i would have cried but i didn't and treathen them that i will not give them any cheats on exams, and they ran...

Hahahaha ^^

:lol ... Sounds like you were able to handle people picking on you in a more comical way, Etna. So, you threatened not to give them any help for an exam, huh?

I tried a tactic like that once. Back in the ninth grade, in AP english class, I think, there was one day that the instructor had left the room for something and this arrogant narcissistic girl whom I really hated used that oppotrunity to start mouthing off to me as usual in front of everyone in order to try to get the whole class to gang up on me (that's been their usual tactic, in my experience; they've never got the you-know-what to face you by themselves), and I suddenly got this idea into my head to try a different approach to how I usually dealt with this particular girl. This time, I just gave an exaggerated sigh and stated simply that she was just jealous because she knew she could never have me. ^_^ Aren't I clever? :evil

Heh, I remember the times when I got picked on at school.
Back in the first grades, you couldn't pick on me because I had a very short temper and a tendency to target vulnerable parts of the male body with direct kicks, if you know what I mean.
From about 4th to 7th grade I kinds lost my guts. Things were more serious, I just couldn't fight back like I used to (why? see topic title). So people found a new way to stress me, they attacked me verbally. I had no notion of how to defend myself that way, so they took advantage of that.
8th grade was not nice. There was this particular boy who loved to attack me verbally. Also, by that point my slim, tall and lackign of muscles build began to stand out, so he decided to take me on physically when he had the chance (mainly after a short verbal debate in which I threatened him somehow). I got stuck in an arm lock once, totally stuck and with people around laughing.
But I wasn't harmless at all. One day, he tried chokign me with both hands. I did a technical move to escape the choke and connected a blow with the flat hand directly to his forehead. He almost cried later, but since the move I had used looked funny, some people made fun of it for a long time. There was another time where he was poking me with a crutch from a friend and I told him, if he didn't stop he'd take some. He laughed and continued; I took the crutch, pressed it against him and threw him to the wall (I think I managed that because of his surprise; he was much stronger than me). Those were the most remarkable moments.
Back then I started getting my balls again.

1st year of high school was kind of a turning point, because over there I learned to defend myself verbally. And mind you, it's not about swearing and calling names; it's about the right answer at the right time (see SK's post, heh). And that defense, in a bullying situation, is way more effective than a physical one.
One year is passed since then, I'm in the middle of high school's second year. After a sudden burst of interest on martial arts last year, I really started working on my self-defense attributes, both technical and brute. Now people don't attack me verbally anymore. At least not seriously. But when they do it seriously, they're in for a tough verbal battle.

Why all this? Y'know, all those things really toughened me and my character. It's a matter of cojones. And being able to defend yourself correctly does grant you respect and self-confidence.

I just wish I had the courage to fight back, despite whatever consequences there might be. Every time I think about what I had to endure throughout all of school my heart fills with hate agains those who bullied me, and if I could remember who they were (and wasn't worried that they somehow miraculously matured into good-natured adults) I'd hunt them down and beat them into submission. I don't care if they're stronger than me, I will endure anything they dish out and won't stop until either they're down or I can no longer move myself.

Most people backed me in my classes, so no one really said much or did much to me. No one asked me for help often either because I was a slacker in high school. Plus I usually "conveniently" forgot how to do something. I hardly help anyone in school unless they're good buddies of mine or they really desperately need help.

Some of them did. But because it was just me and thousands of others.. Theres really nothing that the teachers could do. I became the problem after a while. The teachers and Deans felt.. "If I was not in there school, there would be no problems." :(

Sigh.. not really.. Theres a saying, "nice guys finish last."
I'm a good person. Yet I can't hold a job, I'm always emotionally distressed, and as happy as you all think I am.. I just a mess on the inside.
