Who is Ron Paul? Usually, people say "Google Ron Paul". While this is a good idea, how about I share things about him here?

Quote:
Brief Overview of Congressman Paul’s Record:

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress.

And some videos of him:
Speaking out against the Iraq War back in 2002 before it began:

Ron Paul: A New Hope:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=wIivoqLbeeg

On Sunday, December 16 starting at 12:01 am EST, the grassroots supporters (people not connected to the campaign) are organizing a donation drive to break the campaign donation record previously set on November 5, 2007.

Donate:
https://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate/

I will be personally donating on that date.

The reason I decided to GA this is because I believe it's too important to not be seen. This is about as political as I will do on the site.

Dr. Paul cured my apathy. What can he do for you?

Actually, he wants to reduce the size of the executive branch and does not want to limit gun ownership.

I don't know why you dislike that he voted against the Iraq War, but he did say that (not-quoted) "if you want to go to war, declare it, win it, and get out". The Iraq War was not declare by Congress, the only body in the US which can declare war. In fact, it hasn't declared war since WWII.

I knew someone was going to call me out on that. :p

And if you don't want to donate or whatever, then just watch the counter tomorrow go up. It'll be something to do, right?

However, I have decided that I will not live my life regretting not doing what I can to spread this message.

That's all I can really say, my man. :)

Dennis Kucinich cured MY apathy 3 YEARS AGO (not to mention with a far superior platform )

That said, Ron Paul sounds like the "small Goverment/ Fiscal conservative" type of Republican that founded the party. Kudos. I must say, a non corrupt Republican is truly a rare thing. But he's still a centrist Democrat-- I mean Republican.

It is quite hard to believe there is such a good candidate around. My family is stuck on democratic candidates because of party association. All I have to say about that is nicely demonstrated in Sicko... Hilary gets paid off by her "friends" in the medical capitalist system even more so than republican members of congress.

Believe it! He's been the same way for over 30 years and his voting record proves it. :)

However, do NOT vote along party lines. Vote for the individual who you think would do the best job. As has been shown, neither party cares about your civil liberties or about "the will of the people".

George Washington himself was against the establishment of the party system because of what would happen. Now we see what he feared: a version of good cop, bad cop played by the parties.

This is now a fight between the everyman and the elites, who want to destroy our national sovereignty, among other things.

There are few in Washington who care. I think they could probably be counted here...Paul, Kucinich (Paul and he are friends), Tancredo, Gravel....That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

So far today, we helped raise in the neighborhood of $6 million dollars: the biggest single-day fundraising total in US history!

Official word will be out tomorrow.

I'll take this down now.
