Dude... if I ever get married (hopefully, I won't)... I'll be getting titanium rings. From what I hear, they are actually kind of popular in places.

personally i can't stand wearing rings anyway, would rather get a tattoo.. now THAT'S forever. XD

though marriage is nearly a dead profession these days.. >__> huzzah for being single. ^^

Emeralds or sapphires FTW? At least they're not clear, who wants a clear stone. Clear has to be the most boring 'color'. And they will be surrounded with silver and not gold. Silver is an awesome color. Gold, not so much. Plus pure silver is not malleable to my knowledge.

I was always partial to 'Diamonds, that'll shut her up' or 'Diamonds, now she pretty much has to'. But yeah I'll be getting what I can afford and is reasonable if and when that moment comes. And with all the talk about diamonds (Blood Diamond anyone), it will likely not be a diamond.

Most diamonds you find on rings nowdays are fake or of poor quality. They just sell them at high prices so they can get cahs and no one will notice.

In my experience it's hardly the color that matters about a diamond, it's the brilliancy of it when flawless.
As Kratos said, most diamonds are blander because they're the low quality.
And silver is harder than gold, but not by much, both are still maleable.

Though the brilliancy statement could be applied to gold, in this case I'd agree, silver is a far more flattering precious metal, when of quality.

We have to admit, diamonds are for suckers, but women love them. That's the whole problem (there's also the cumulative problem that diamonds are hellish expensive).

I guess it all depends on your financial state. If you have the money and want to please your future wife/wife/proposee/whatever, it's a good call. Because they like it.
