Ixz is right. I doubted that 300 would be a good movie because....well, it was weird. But....wow, it made 70 million this weekend, on a mid 60 million budget. Go see this movie. Now.

Didn't doubt this movie it was made by Frank Miller. So much blood, I can only ask for more.

You can't say that it wasn't worth it. There are very few good movies produced now a days. To prove my point, remember all the trailers before 300? Was it me, or was like 2 of the 50 bajillion shown worth antyhing.... and even then, the 2 I would watch weren't all that great either.

Besides, I though it was aginst ToS to talk of pirating.

It wasn't worth it if I could see it for free. Someone released a TS screener of the movie, high quality too.

The first thing that comes to mind is Linkin Park's new album that comes out in a month. I could very easily download the full album off of limewire. But I'm not. Because I like the group and feel like supporting them.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that you didn't WASTE the money if it was a good movie. It would have been a waste if it sucked.

Well I saw the movie.. I did not think it was all that great. It's just 300 men sward killing. The story could have had more to it too. I think the movie was mostly based on the woman's boob shots, in the film.

Honestly. What I would think you guys would find more enjoyable is if they cut right to the chase. Make the whole movie about the boobs. Lets drop out all the 300 men all together. And make it 300 women, topless dieing in battle against an army of more topless women. Then just change the name of the movie to 600. Meaning 600 boobs dieing in battle. There you go. Maybe I can be a writer and make tons of money.

Or maybe theres just a lack of NC-17 movies for all the pervs who gave this movie a 5 star rating.

I didn't think there was all that much nudity, but then again I'm basing that comparison on porn... Seriously though it was all unnecissary except[spoiler] when the persian king tempted the traitor[/spoiler].
Nudity aside it was the best movie I have seen in a LONG time.
If you havn't yet, go see it. If your afraid of gore don't be. While it is bloody there's nothing that even stands near Hostel's level of gross-you-out-make-you-wanna-cry gore.

I agree that there is too much of a focus on porn in that movie than what should be. But story/action content compared to sexual content is 10 to 1... you shouldn't make it out to be so bad.

And that Matrix 2 and Interview with a Vampire was better movies I think.

First off... the Matrix 2 and 3 sucked. I didn't see Interview with a Vampire (with good reason).

Second. 300 has nothing to do with the Bible... based primarily off of history... not religion.

Third. Romans and Jews have litterally nothing in common with Spartains and Persians. If you lump them together, you might as well add Orcs and Hobbits... or Narnians and um, whatever the guys that were on the queens side were... bah, you get the point.

Or do you? ^_^

And forth... they didn't have idols. The humans, themselves, proclaimed godhood.

Then tell me this why both ten commandment and 300 use [spoiler]the golden goats? I have not seen golden goats in any other films. And I know the golden goat is something that people idolize instead of our god above. [/spoiler]

Between that and the mid evil fighting style is the same.. Charge with your swards and spears like lord of the rings. Thats the only reason why I brought up it was like a bible story. Like one. Not that it has to do with the movie it self.

Even if there was no boobs in this film. I was kinda getting bored of the whole
kill, kill, kill... It was cool in the start when.. [spoiler]The young boy was in training and he would get beaten up by his own family to make him strong. And when he faced the wolf alone. And then you see them ugly dudes. I for get who they are. The ugly dudes in the robes. Before the boobie chick. They where kinda cool looking. [/spoiler]Once we got into 30min. of non stop battle I was like.. OK I seen enough. I get the point.

At least in matrix people are running with guns and hoping on [spoiler]bikes racing
the wrong way down a highway. [/spoiler]Now thats cool.

There wasn't one time anybody worshipped any idol in 300. If there was any golden structure, it was simply for looks. Not relgion.

And I dare say you really can't make much of a fuss over a stage prop.

And that's why people like you shouldn't go watch action movies. Besides, you act like it was the same thing over and over. There were a sh*t load of diffrent enemies, diffrent strategies. Each fight sequence was diffrent, if you paid enough attention.



As I said, the movie is historically correct... minus a few deatils. And in the days of Spartains, there were no guns, bikes, or highways. And it's that "Ooooh, pretty lights and exlposions" mind set that ruins good films.

It's the same thing as caring more for graphics in video games than the story or plot.

The Persians? Read a history book.



She wasn't. Sparta has several women and children. In fact, that's one of the reason why Sparta was even fighting. It's just that the queen was one of the only protagonists. Let's try not to make this a gender argument.



Well, if you knew anything about Spartains or the greek, you'd know that [spoiler]the 300 weren't the ENTIRE army of greece, but only a small faction of the spartains. The whole time the 300 were fighting, the queen was trying to talk the poloticians into sending the rest of the army to help. Only, it took the 300's (technically 299) death to do it. After they died, they sent everything they had to fight the persians back. Which was actually the closing scene of the movie.

They didn't MAKE those soldiers, they were always in Greece. They just weren't deployed till after the 300 were dead.[/spoiler]

They could have made the city to look like there was more people in it. I mean they went out of there way to make the army's look big.

Why read the novel when the movie is supost to be better?
They should have included everything.
