Saw the movie.

It's good. But that's all I can say. It isn't bad and it also isn't the greatest movie in the world. It's...just..good. I had some envy over that teleporting power. :blush

Er, anyway! It's a good movie and a good way to kill time. But what I didn't like, which may contain spoilers but better safe than sorry, huh?
The storytelling aspects were not so good. They focused too much on relationships and life problems instead of fight scenes. They do show plenty of those but I would've loved to see something more epic.
I saw this movie last night...

I would have to agree. The story line was not the best. I do like the idea of having the power to teleport.
I think its kinda dumb though to be able to teleport cars an trucks, the way they did it. Even the money was stupid to teleport. IMO, what would have made that move a little more real and enjoyable is, if they ended up being naked at there transport point. Because I feel that, the mind and body it self that should be aloud the transport. Not the cloths or belongings. That would have made it a little more interesting. Like in the terminator movies.

Also needing to have pictures of all the places you been to is kinda stupid. It should all be by your memory like in the "Butterfly effect" movie. The power of the mind. :)
But that's just what I think.
Oh and the part that the kids mother was playing a role that made her a bad guy... That was really stupid. I did not really like the story to this movie. There was a few other things like the electric shock stuff that I thought was dumb.
Sigh.. More money wasted on a bad film I say.

I liked it too. Not "WOW great!!1!" but I enjoyed it.
I can forgive the focus on the relationships and stuff instead of action, since it was the first movie. Most super heroes movies do that, they set up the story in the first one so you know how did they get their powers, they make allies and enemies, and stuff. Surely the second one will focus more on the action.

And I don't think they really need pictures to teleport. They just need to remember the place (that's how what'shisname teleported himself to the library. He didn't have a picture of it) But after being in so many places, I guess having pictures help them keep those places fresh in their memory.

The thing about jumping, from what I noticed, is that they make like some kind of teleport gate, which they cross, so that's why they manage to take money, other people, cars and even their own clothes. They don't just disappear in thin air. And having some guys running and teleport naked during the whole movie.. that doesn't sem like a good idea to me.
And for basically the whole movie, I thought her mother was a jumper too. It was nice to see a twist there. She'll probably get in trouble with the other paladins for helping her son in the sequel. (I do believe they will make a sequel) Also, I thought, "that guy should have helped what'shisname rescue his girlfriend!" but that kind of makes it more realistic. Not everyone shares your same ideals, and not everyone with special powers necesarily think of heroic deeds. The other guy only wanted revenge. That's all that mattered to him.
And heroes need some kind of weakness, theirs is electricity
So in the end, while I don't think it's among the best movies I've seen, I do not regret paying almost 4 bucks to see it (yay for bargain price!)

^

teleport gate, which they cross,
Yeah.. That
gate
thing made no sense to me. It was there minds that made them
jump/teleport. Not an object that opens portals.
There was no reason for
portal holes
in this move. NO REASON.
They did it just so the
bad guys would have a way to catch them.
Because the movie would be kinda boring if the good
guys kept getting
away.
If anything... They should have made it the
bad guys who teleport. Then it will be a little more scary on the whole world.. Bad guys who teleport.
Heh. I think it's fine the way it is.
And there was only ONE instance when the bad guys chased them across a portal, if you take or destroy their little machine, they can't follow you.
Anyway, I'm sure there are bad jumpers out there. And if there's a sequel, we'll sure meet some of them. And if you think about out, the main guy (can't remember his name.. David?), while he didn't hurt anybody, he was a bank robber.
EDIT:
It turns out there's a reason for portal holes to exist in the movie.
It's a film adaptation from a science fiction novel by the same name.
EDIT 2: You know everything I said I was hoping for the sequel? Well there's also a sequel to the book, and from what I could gather, none (or almost none) of that will happen. :|
