So yes. I saw it. And despite my comments on the subject description, this is actually a very good movie. It has the typical plot of a cartoon to live action movie thing going on, where they contrive some type back story to justify the Transformers landing on earth, but overall it was a decent attempt, really! I particularly like that they got the original voice of Optimus Prime. That made the movie right there. In fact, I beleive that they cot all the character relevant voice actors to play the parts of the various Transformers.

This movie is actually FUNNY which surprised me most. There are literally DOZENS of laugh out loud moments.

So to plot overview.

Billions of years ago, before any life existed in the universe, there was "the Cube." it be came known as the Allspark, and granted life to inanimate objects. This is how the planet known as Cybertron came into existence.
But there are always those who seek power and a war was fought among the denizens of Cybertron. Durring the war the Allspark was lost, spurring the denizens of Cybertron to fight another war in order to seek it. The Allspark, meanwhile, landed on primitive Earth and remained there for eons. The Autobots realized the this is where the Allspark was located, however, the Decepticons had got there first; the trail being blazed by Megatron. However, Megatrons guidance telemetry failed during his approach to earth and he crash landed in the arctic, and was locked in the ice.
Present day, and a weird new weapon attacks a minitary outpost in the middle east. Long story short, this makes the U.S. government freak, which in turn causes all the other global power players to freak, etc...

Realy, after that, the movie is just explosion, after explosion, and lots of humor.

About the only other thing I can say is that they generaly left it open for a sequel, but if they never made one, the movie could stand fine on its own.

I like how the plot came together, but there was too much focus on the humans AND the camera was shaky as f*ck.

I wanted to see the robots fight in extended scenes beating the sh*t out of each other.

I'd still see the sequel though, because I agree with you for the most part. :D

Yeah, It was funny, but, I think it went overboard with humor. I wanted to see more serious battles.

But, Still:
I can't believe Jazz got ripped in 2 by Megatron.
DuelExpert, that pretty much had to happen. megatron wouldnt be much of a threat if he never harmed any autobots.

movies 2 and 3 have been given the green light.

production staff wants dinobots and constructicons in the sequel.

Transformers had the best tuesday in box office history, and I believe the best july 4th performance as well.

I'm a big fan of Dinobots. Of course I'll see the sequels :)

That was a really good movie IMO. One of the best ones I seen all year. :D

I'll have to say that this was my second favorite move of the year. I liked everything about it, even saw it twice! (Even before the movie, I was a Transformers fan.)

9/10 from me.

I saw it too, and while normally speaking I'm not a transformers fan, I really loved it. Just two qualms I had with it, though. 1. Megatron was not introduced until halfway through the movie, which kind of lowers his credability as the number one bad guy. Plus he wasn't all that scary to me anyway. 2. Watch the movie again and count how many commercials it had in it. I mean, some of them you could tell were only thrown in there at the last minute. Like certain inanimate objects in a certain scene being turned into robots and never being seen again. Stuff like that bothers me, but all in all, like I said, great movie.
