I fabricated and installed a new breakfast bar in my house for my wife's birthday.

The counter top laminate is a perfect match to our existing counter tops!

Next I am going to install new lighting the kitchen, living room and garage.

The kitchen will get recessed lighting (six), the breakfast bar will get track lighting directly above it, the living room will have the former dining room's chandelier light replaced with a ceiling light, and the garage will get shop lights.

That looks nice, man. You are so handy. Make me a wooden gun!

I remember you talking about this. What did your wife have to say after she saw it?

Yeah, I planned this since March. She was shocked that everyone in her family knew about it and she had no idea. Her family helped keep her out of the house while I built it in the back yard and my brother came over to help me install it.

She really loves it and was surprised I could make it without any experience in doing it before. I'd like to take a moment to thank PBS and Ask This Old House as well as YouTube and Lowe's Home Improvement Store.
