how many times have yous all heard the thing about people parking in a driveway and driving in a parkway?

i seen this below image recently and finally have to ask, has anyone ever heard of a parkway? I've never heard any kind of road called a parkway except when it's the name of a place, usually a building, which is clearly not a road.

even wikipedia says can be a type of road or paved area http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkway but i've never in my life heard anyone actually use the word. have any of you?

Actually I lived with SK on a street that was called Parkway Drive. So if you wanted to go to my how back then you had to drive down parkway and then park in my driveway.
