how the sweet lord do you convert a tif file into a jpeg?

(tif= temporary internet folder, for those like me who didn't know.)


i ask because i cant enter the art competition unless i find out.

Open the file into paint and then resave it as a jpeg. It's rather simple actualy.

And yes. this should have go in the creativity foum

If you open it in MS Paint, you should be able to convert it. Otherwise, just zip the file and post it. We'll be able to see it.

well since lone has not bothered to come post in here he mentioned to me when we read this that a tif file for starters in not a temporary internet folder it is a compressed image and opening it in paint is a really really bad idea.
personally i have never run into a tif file before but i can say that it is definitly not a temporary internet folder because well.. that would be a folder wouldn't it?
folder != file;

I think what you were looking at was .TIFF

Those are usaualy scanned images in their raw state. It's usualy best to let Photoshop, or other image etting soft ware handle those. If you do open it in paint, make sure you have decent RAM, cause it will chew up a big hunk of it.

yeah, i ran into a .tif file just recently actually ... though i kept forgetting to post about it. internet explorer could open it if you have quicktime, and photoshop will open it and so will imagepreview.
