Sometimes, a speech can move your heart like nothing else in the world. What speeches have moved you or made you want to kick ass?

Charlie Chaplin - The Great Dictator

This is one of the best freedom-oriented speeches that I have ever heard, because it is just as relevant today as it was 70 years ago. I get chills.

Martin Luther King, Jr. - I Have a Dream

The most famous part starts at: 7:10.

What else can I say about this one that hasn't been? Because of this speech and the tireless work of decent black people and their allies, we don't have a segregated internet. My friends are not just black people, but all types of people. My heart does not feel the pain of racism that my forefathers had to endure.

Free at last, free at last, thank God Almighty, we are free at last!

President - Independence Day

A less-serious entry, this made the entire final battle seem so significant. I don't know how, but the speech really makes you feel like the stakes mean something to you, personally, as a moviewatcher.

What about you guys?

Jon Stewart on 9/11, right after it happened. Really heart wrenching.

John Corvino - What's Morally Wrong with Homosexuality? One of my favorite lectures about homosexuality - John is witty and has some great arguments.

Those are the two that I can remember right now.

Good picks, fruple. I hadn't seen those at all.

Here's another one that's a bit obscure:

Network

This is not the "mad as hell" speech. It's actually the second speech he does. The relevance it had in 1976 when this movie was made to now is equivalent. Because of its damning of media, this Oscar-winning movie is pretty much never shown on television. They would prefer that you didn't turn off your box.
