You know, whenever I think of the name Enix (not including the Square part), I immediately tend to think of general gaming greatness, if for just one thing I always associate with Enix, and one thing only:

STAR. FREAKIN'. OCEAN.

And I am mainly taking about my first Star Ocean experience ever - The Second Story. It was immensely satisfying enough for me to tend to immediately (if irrationally) assume only the best of quality in every RPG to ever be made by this company for here on after.

But, holy crap, I was checking out today's articles from Cracked, ... and I would never have guessed this about Enix's pre-Star Ocean history, which is revealed under the #1 heading at the bottom of the article. I am still wondering if maybe, just maybe the staff at Cracked occasionally inserts some BS (amongst the things that I assume they have done a little research into or have reason to believe is proven truth) into their numbered list-type articles just to better ensure our being entertained by reading them.

Enix was a young company at the time, these sorts of games were popular and perhaps it did what it felt it had to in order to succeed. In the end it was all worth it, though, because it means that now you get to play a fantasy game starring Mickey Mouse.

This makes me want to falcon punch pregnant women.
