Ultimately I know that this isn't a really big deal, but I wanted to say something on the subject never the less. So while I may sound slightly adamant about it, I do realize that it's not really that important. What I'm talking about here, is Christmas. As early as a week ago, I already saw Christmas trees in people's windows, and the town had already started decorating for the season. Restaurants were already blaring Christmas songs throughout there stores, and Walmart and such already had several isles dedicated to Christmas merchandise.

...

At this point in time, it was still half a month away from Thanksgiving.

What... the... f*ck.

Why is Christmas so freaking important that Thanksgiving gets thrown clear out the picture before the month Christmas happens in even arrives?! Are people really THAT impatient? I can't help but roll my eyes every time I see someone blowing their Christmasy load all over their house when Thanksgiving hasn't even happened yet. If you are one of those people... please, I implore you... tell me what the f*ck the deal is? What's the rush? Honestly, the absolute soonest I think all this sh*t should start happening is December first. It only makes sense. I mean, imagine if Thanksgiving was a person. If I were Thanksgiving... I'd be pissed. I'd wish that the days you got to take off for me happening would go away. Nay, that you had to work overtime on those days. Ungrateful pricks.

And what's more? Thinking about it, I think that Thanksgiving is a better holiday anyways. It's everything that Christmas is but without the obligation of having to give people sh*t. The whole exchanging of gifts feels pretty awkward in the first place, really.

*shrugs*

On the subject of town decoration, our town puts the lights up on the street a couple weeks before Thanksgiving, but it's only in preparation. They don't actually light up until Thanksgiving Day, and all day that day, to mark the beginning of the holiday season.

And I think it is because of being the holiday season that places like Wal-Mart has Christmas merchandise for sale ahead of time, so that people will be able to prepare to set up for the holiday season. Granted, a whole month ahead of Thanksgiving is a little soon.

But I myself won't be putting up any decorations until Thanksgiving's over. If I put up any decorations at all. I mean I have a tree, but my house is a cluttered mess with no motivation to get it cleaned.

Stores can sell that stuff from Nov on imo. It's when the streets are glowing because of all the people decorating their homes the day after Halloween that I get pissed. Megan keeps telling me she wants to put up our tree and I keep saying no. In fact, I still have four uncarved pumpkins in the yard for the whole fall season thing. It isn't winter until Dec.

That's right! I did see tell tale signs of Christmas stuff right after Halloween. And I do understand the marketing side of it all. And the only reason they do it is because everyone is a sucker for Christmas sh*t. I'm not sure why though. I just don't get why everyone jumps the gun. December 1st should be the absolute soonest any of these shenanigans go down.

We usually put up our christmas tree (a fake one) the weekend after Thanksgiving. That's also when we make the bulk of our christmas cookies. I just find that it's easier to get it done then because it's a school break. Waiting until December would mean waiting until finals were close, and then it'd get put off until after finals, and by then it'd be pretty darn close to christmas. Plus, setting up the tree gives me something to do between batches of cookies, and I do like to eat my christmas cookies the entire month up to Christmas.

If you don't believe in Christ, YOU SHOULDN'T CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS! YOU SINNERS!

:P

Yeah, well, whatever about that. Do what you may But as far as the decorations and stuff goes, I think people need to wait a little until Thanksgiving is over. It's like passing up your birthday. Would you pass up on your own birthday? HELL NO! All holidays were created equal. I think I may start decorating for Easter when Thanksgiving is over.

ARRRRG! Remind me never to go anywhere other than work and my house till next year. I keep forgetting that even though it's not Christmas... that it's Christmas. I went to Walmart to go grab DKC:R. And not only did I have to wait just about as long as it would have taken to just have it shipped to my house, but I had to listen to a slew of Christmas songs. I thought that it was super funny how it, in fact, wasn't "lovely weather for a sleigh-ride together with you."

Let the record show that I hate Christmas music. It's bad enough when a station repeats the same small set of "popular" songs over and over again. It's even worse when that small set includes remakes of each other. I DO NOT HAVE TO HEAR FIVE DIFFERENT ITERATIONS OF "FROSTY THE SNOWMAN"!
