Some of you know that I've been working on a site for a client. Some of you don't.

Well, I'm particularly proud of this, so I'm making this topic to tell you that I just reduced the site's database load by over 2/3 and increased overall loading speed drastically. The index page of the site was using 67 database queries and would take anywhere from 5 seconds to upwards of 30 to load!

The new site index page uses 18 queries and averages about .9 seconds. If 1,000 people viewed the site, that would save the database about 50,000 queries. It really does stack up quickly.
