I'd been gearing up to see Avatar, even after the whole racebending fiasco, but other fans have seen the movie now and they say it's one of the worse movies they've ever seen.

In one part of the movie, they trap Earthbenders in a prison MADE OF EARTH. Not to mention many other blunders.

M. Night, f*ck you, you f*cking hack. How could you f*ck this up?

I could have directed this! All I woulda had was the animated show on a screen and say "Oh, okay *looks*, I want Aang talking to Katara about Airbending in this scene". And it would have been better.

It really pains me to say that fans should save their money, unlike SHAMalayaflaka, who blew 200 million on this turd.

Ouch. I just read some of the quick hit reviews. I guess I better save my money.

They could have made another animated movie on Nickelodeon.

Oh well.

How could it possibly suck? The cartoon was great, and recent! Aww, man, I've been looking forward to it for quite a while, too. And I, as well, have been watching the show on Netflix (this'll be my first time seeing all three seasons).

Let me guess... the guy who did this movie wasn't a part of Nickelodeon.

It was M. Night, who's track record has been pure poo since the Village.

Two points:
1.) Live action adaptation of anime not produced in Japan. >_> Um...SERIOUSLY. Nuff said.
2.) After the GREAT JOB they (the hollywood movie mill) did with Dragonball Z, you expected any different?

The way you stop bad cartoon/anime to live action adaptations is to not see them if the original source author/creator did not have majority creative control. Sadly, this film will make millions due to the fact that most Airbender fans are a bit like most Naruto fans: between 11 and 15, and not bright enough to research a film before they go see it. And also sadly, many a preteen will fall on this shitgrenade (and leave the theater in tears as their tiny naive hopes are dashed) before it blunders out of theaters in August.

This movie is a giant middle finger to Shamalamalamaladingdong fans and to the fans of the show. The source material here provided more than enough to create a great movie adaption.

If there are still fans of Shamalamalamalamaldingdong left than may God have mercy on their souls.

Never heard of him. But you guys say that this is the same guy that did the Dragonball movie? Had I known that, I wouldn't have gotten my hopes up.

That's one of the funniest things you've ever said. HA!

Anyway, I'm really curious how this movie could possibly be bad... it's in THREEEEEEE DEEEEEEEEEE- *takes deep breath* -EEEEEEEEEEEE!

It wasn't but last year that Ixzion got me to watch the animated series. It ws Nickalodeon (much less American anime) so I was skeptical to say the least. But after watching in full, I was actually really impressed with it. Definitely the best think that Nick has ever put out. So, of course, I was at least looking forward to the moive. And I think I found it out.

All the movies that everyone expects to be awesome, once adapted into 3D, seem to have failed seemingly 100% of the time. Coinsodence? I THINK NOT!

I just found it interesting that the commercials also say "also in 2D". No, it's only 2D if it's hand-drawn.

Too bad, because this would've made a great live action movie if done right.

I... I'm in trouble. Back before the movie was out, I told Rachael that we could go see it. And she's calling me out on that offer. Even though I now know that this is going to be a horrible movie. Please give me your prayers that I may be able to survive this monstrosity. I'm leaving for it in 4½ hours. =(

Have you told her that it'll be horrible and potentially ruin her love for the cartoon?

Yes, yes I have. She just refuses to accept the opinion of the friends I have online. And regardless of my please, she still plays that "but you said so" card. My impending doom is in 2½ hours.

Well, by this point you're probably watching the movie as I type this up. You'll have to let us know whether you got to say "I told you so".

*haxx*

Actually, I have to thank Rachael's employees. Because most of them have already seen it and they all hated it as well. When someone hasn't even seen the show and hates it anyways... that's really saying something.

Anyways, I was able to weasel my way out of it thanks to the combined efforts of you guys and her employees. You have my gratitude.
