I was just wondering if any of you guys are still in college, how much did you pay for text books this semester? What is it like these days as far as selling or sharing books or even not bothering to buy them if they are not really necessary. Like sometimes you'd never really need it except for the occasional reading but the library might have a copy.

College text books can suck my man sausage. Actually, the cost isn't bad if you don't buy from the bookstore. College bookstores will stick a rod up your ass and leave it there. I paid over $300 for 3 books this semester, but took one back and got a $200 refund to bring my net cost to around $160. Books ultimately cost too much when you buy from the school. So, if you need a book, trust in Amazon or a used book store.

^Agreed.

The people who make the books come out with newer editions almost every semester, deeming whatever you got last time as worthless. This happened to me especially when I was taking Pysch. I bought a brand new textbook for 150 bucks, and then the very next semester...new edition. I could not sell my old one back, even for a penny.

I would also recommend going to half.com for book shopping too. Just make sure you know the book number before you do your search.
