Here Comes Rachel with her dad.


This was the band we got to play. Well...It was kind of a given actually. My sister in a Celtic/Classical quartet, and they mostly play weddings any way. The guy standing is not actually a part of the band; he is Rachels' cousin Ian. He plays Violin professionally, for the Berlin,(Germany) Symphony ORCHESTRA. (um, like, Das Uber Scoren, Ja? XD)



Ok, so now we are on the altar, and things are getting underway.


We presented each of our respective mothers a flower. It was symbolic of the time and effort they put into raising us. It was more than that really, but that is/was the condensed sentiment. Moving on...


This is me putting the ring on her finger. (yes it was the wrong hand, but I was stupid and forgot how to tell my own left from my right, let alone someone elses'. Still, it worked out because at least you can see the ring. She and I fixed the error immediately following this pic.)

Flash forward to the reception. Our reception was a Victorian/Edwardian theme, so we held a garden party.

Rachel, and my side of the equation. (note the the costume change. This was taken about an hour and a half after the previous one because my sister had to stay to help break down the band set up and the decorations at the church. During this time, Rachel changed into something a bit more...Victorian.)

This was our wedding cake.
It kind of makes me sad, because some dufus moved the table that it was supposed to sit on from a nice level location to a nice slanted one. This picture was taken before we did all of our obligatory face smushing, but unfortunately, gravity reared it ugly head and the whole thing toppled over shortly afterward. We did not get to keep the top. it fell on the grass. DAMN YOU GRAVITY!!!!

Last but not least is my Grooms cake which my sister made for me. It was a nice gesture, but Alas, I was so busy I never even got to have any of it!!
Why do I cry? Well it was basically a marble cake jelly donut, but more than that...

..it was shaped like an NES.

It looks like you had a lot of fun on that day, for whatever reason. I'm sure it was an unimportant and uneventful day in your life, but you seem to know how to live each day to the fullest.

I don't think I have ever seen a wedding where the bridesmates didn't wear the same dress or at the very least the same color. Was this a matter of style, meaning, or finances? Either way, I actually liked it, maybe even moreso than the tradition I am used to seeing.

I always thought you were Puerto Rican-American or some other Latin American. Cool.

whats with the dividing things in the pews? my church is just one big bench with a single support in the middle thats a very low arm rest but you can walk right through to the other side.

The church was built in the 1780's and back then men and women were segregated on to sides of a church. It was Puritian thing. Since Congregationalists took over most of the old Puritain Churches, you ended up with that sort of arrangement. It's actually quite common here in Maine.
