Ixzion and I saw this movie last night, but I found myself enjoying it more than he did. Part of the reason for me seeing this is that it stars Seth Rogen, and he's been known to consistently bring the funny. At first glance, this movie seems like another Paul Blart: Mall Cop. However, considering the material (Paul Blart= PG; Observe= R), the similarities end there. I enjoyed the movie because of its mix of clever dialogue and a sequence of events that hit completely from left field (I mean this, of course, as a compliment). Seth Rogen brings the film to life and almost steals it (That award, I'm afraid, goes to a minor role, a mall lotions salemen who also happened to be on Scrubs, with whom Rogen interrogates in the film).

Quote of Zen from this minor role, paraphrased:

He said I was trying to bomb Chic-Fil-A. Why would I want to bomb that place? Chic-Fil-A is F***ing delicious!

I'll have to agree with Ixzion on one of the movie's flaws. The creators do seem conflicted whether they want a serious movie with lots of action or a comedy with little action, and it's in the second half where the story begins to lose its pace.

Overall, though, I was overly satisfied. I would definitely see this movie again if I could bring someone else to see it with me. :tup 8.5/10

I would not pay 9.75 to see a bastardized version of a (mostly) revered anime.

I'm glad that regular price here is 6.00-6.75
It makes me twitch a little less whenever I see a bad movie.
I never heard of that movie before. That's weird. I'll have to check if it's available here.
