This is the place of lists.
Top 5, Top 10, Top Bottom, and whatnot

So, yeah, I like making lists, and none of my lists have any numerical structure (unless they do); they're all bent on discovering what is in the thin air of the peak of quality, things you don't compare to anything else without confusing yourself.
So near as I can tell, the entire point is that you're probably wrong, and probably don't even agree with yourself, because lists are intrinsically so limited and limiting, but in a list you are struggling to order the world, and this struggle is at the heart of consciousness.

Leftovers are what you can't help thinking about being on the list, but you didn't put on it. Maybe they'll make it next time you make the list, maybe you appreciate or enjoy it as much as you do the things that made the list, but when you try and be objective about it your higher taste says 'hm, guess not.'
