Intellectual property includes at least copyrights, trademarks, and patents. I was just wondering how all of you feel about:

1. The concept of intellectual property.
2. The problems and benefits of intellectual property.
3. The desire to create and possess intellectual property.
4. The respect or lack of respect for the intellectual property of others.

Any thoughts?

I just saw on Dr.Phil today that some lady invented a bra where you could adjust the straps, got a patent and then Victoria's Secret apparently stole the idea and started to market her invention. I missed part of it so I don't know if she showed them the invention or if they saw the patent themselves and decided to make it. She is suing them.

Also there is a movie coming out called "Flash of Genius" which looks like it is a similar type storyline about the inventor of the windshield wiper and Ford.

^ just saw today as in she recently invented that? cus it's not particualrily new that one...

The show was recent, I'm sure that her patent and the controversy was from a while ago.
