I was wondering what most of you think is an acceptable level of spoiler.

When I see a movie I try not to talk about it afterward if other people can hear me (like at a restaurant, or especially when leaving the theater).

I also don't like talking about movies in front of strangers even if they are many years old because I don't know if others have seen them yet or not.

The thing is, I wonder if it is unfair for me to request that others practice the same thing because truth is, I'll probably never get around to seeing the movie anyways.

The same goes for books and games.

The one thing that bothers me that I think is considered socially acceptable is when someone says something like "the movie has a twist ending but I won't say what it is" or "there is something that ruined the movie for me but don't worry, I won't tell you what it is!", etc. because then I am on alert the whole movie and never really allow myself to get absorbed into it.

What do you guys think?

I hate spoilers and will not reveal them.

This.

This is so stupid. How can you say things like that? Saying them may not tell you what it is, but it poisons your mindset. I'd rather they not say anything.
