I recnetly ran across this video. Apparently doing brain sugery on monkeys (glad to know where my tax money goes) and implanting some kind of chip that will control a mechanical arm.

The goal here is to adapt the technology to humans who have lost limbs and such. What are your thoughts on the matter? Do you not like the idea of having something electronic surgically attached to your brain? Is this too much like futuristic cyborg technology? Or is this something that you think is ground breaking and hope to see it prosper.

Personally, I find this a little more tollerable than RFID chips... but I'm still not very keen on the idea. Though I have to give credit, that's really quite a marvel that this technology is possible.

the other day i caught something on the tv that mentioned funding for nanotechnology or something like that. i am not surprised technology is moving into the next phase. i only wonder how we will get there, though i fear ethics will be substituted for results.

you cant stop progress, it marches to the beat of its own war drums. if we outlaw practices like this then there will be someone else out there all to happy to get it done.

I thought there were already mechanical arms controlled by the brain O.o

And to be honest, I'm mostly indifferent to it.

One thing that just popped up in my mind: maybe, in the future, 'mechanization' will stop meaning 'unemployment'?

I think it's great that we're seeing technology evolve like this. especially if it helps the human body.
