I got a Kenmore food processor for Christmas.

It did not say anywhere on the box or in the paperwork about
the blades and plastic parts being dishwasher safe.

I called Sears. This woman tells me.

"I can not tell you if its dishwasher safe over the phone, But I can send someone to your house." O.o WTF?

Then I asked her to send my call to main office. And found out that the office is closed.

This is the most stupidest thing I heard in a very long time...
Why do I have to waste a trip down to Sears and make like I'm interested in buying a new food processor in order to find out if its dishwasher safe?

Would this woman rather have me just return all of my Sears products and go with a different company's then just to give me a yes or no over the phone?

May Sears Stock market crash for pissing me off.

There could be all kinds of reasons:

She was trying to get you to pay more
She didn't know the answer
She legally can't tell you
She misunderstood your question
She was in a bad mood

I have no idea what the actual answer is, but it seems that you might follow it up when the office opens to find out if your problem is with her, Sears or both.

I am interested in knowing what kind of legal reasons that may bind someone of that.

Out side of that one suggestion, the rest are really stupid reasons.

I'm just making up reasons off the top of my head. My point is simply to not assume a reason but rather to find it out.

Maybe I should have also said Sears policy. It might be Sears policy to not comment over the phone as it would be he said/she said should she tell you something without seeing that you have the exact model you claim to have should something go wrong for either the parts, the dishwasher, or if it could lead to bodily damage.

Even the first reason (trying to get you to pay more) might be stupid but not her fault if she is bound to telling you that she cannot give the information over the phone.


Did you ask her why she couldn't tell you/

Did you call back and see if someone else answered the line?

There's no reason to get hot and bothered over it. She probably doesn't know the answer. Just wait a day or two to find out.

or take a guess... does it look dishwasher safe? then i prolly is. i mean it doesn't say that it's NOT.

you live in america. you can just sue if it isn't cus it doesn't have a giant warning label.
