...but not necessarily. :lol

About a week ago I went to a play (black box, experimental type theater (i.e., not a mainstage)).

Later that night I dreamt that all our characters were sort of local celebrities like the way that the local actors that were there that night as members of the audience seemed.

Kittykicker was doing and singing 'The Kittykicker Dance' on the stage and the friend that I actually went to the play with who has seen this site once or twice was saying, "Hey, that's Kittykicker!" (Although sorry KK, in real life I don't think he knows who you are). I myself felt like sort of a celebrity in attendance for being part of the Mag.

Then I dreamt that Lantis and Kittykicker were married and had an electronics or gaming shop. I recognized them from the pictures that they have posted throughout the site and I identified myself as Anonymous Bo. I thought they'd be suprised to see a fellow Magonian in person but they acted like I was any old customer. Oh, well.

I lol'd.

Honestly, I don't dream much myself (technically everyone dreams every night, it's just not remembered in the morning) so, I can't say I relate. But the ones I do remember are usually about as out of the ordinary as yours. Anyway, thanks for sharing. ^_^

The greatest feeling I ever have, sorry loved ones, sorry music, is the transcendent feeling I have while dreaming. I usually have awesome dreams, but I don't recall my dreams as much as I used to.

The cool thing is that whereas I have actually 'talked' to Lantis and Kittykicker through posting at the Mag and I have actual memory of talking to them in person(albeit memory of talking to my subconcious imagination of them as opposed to my conciuous actual perception of them), my mind thinks that I have actually talked to them in person, but they do not have memory of this.

I always pass on the 'fatty'.

I don't mean that I actually pass it on to the next person :XD but rather that I always say, "no".

Let's be clear though that I don't equate a 'fatty' with a bbw. I never pass on a bbw! :lol

*Puff puff, give!* :lol

I usually have dreams where I can fly, or jump really high or something. But my favorite dreams are the scary ones.

I believe there is a huge difference between a nightmare and a scary dream. A scary dream, imo, is a good thing, like running from a monster through a dark and scary forest. o.O

But if it is something like, for example, a loved one dying or something (knock on wood) that to me, is a nightmare. :o

I know exactly what you are talking about, but I consider a loved one dying a 'sad dream' and the scary one's nightmares. In other words we agree about the kind of dreams we like, but the reason I use the word nightmare for the scary dreams is because I think that nightmare should have a positive connotation for those inclined to enjoy dreams that scare you. My favorite nightmares are the ones where I am either in a pool with a shark, have to walk past a bunch of wild animals like leopards, bulls, or crocodiles, or am standing in the ocean looking up at impossibly monstrous statues.

I love nightmares.

EDIT: You ever dream about large creatures jutting out of the ocean Leviathan? :)

You know, its funny you should mention that.....
It wasn't even that long ago, but I had a scary dream where I was wading in deep water, and something forceful kept grabbing my legs, like it was trying to drown me. :o That was kinda scary, because I felt really helpless.

Also, I heard that if you have a dream about falling, then it could mean that your body is waking up before your soul can re-enter it. This makes sense of course, if you believe that your soul leaves your body when you sleep. Or if you believe in souls at all for that matter.

And one more thing while we're talkin' about it. If your soul went and visited somewhere while you were sleeping, and then you find yourself actually visiting that place when your awake -would you think this is where a deja vu (don't know if I spelled that right) would come in?

That's actually an interesting concept... And considering I have a lot of falling dreams and deja vu that's a nice theory to think about.

Heh, I wonder if that is actually what it is.....ugh, I hate knowing and not knowing things.

My mom has always been very....different. Different in terms of religion and the great beyond. She used to have to sleep with a bible every night because she claimed the Beast (I would guess Satin, or something to that effect) would haunt her and would literally throw the bible out of her hands. She has even had scratches on her back and claims that her soul has been thrown from her body.

If you ask me, she has done to many drugs in her past. But, at the same time, these stories have scared the hell out of me. I don't consider myself very religious or anything, but I can't help but feel uneasy about these kinds of things. I just don't like this kind of stuff, I try not to believe in it, but at the same time, its hard to not believe it..... :|

Long story short, I don’t presently believe in the traditional notion of a soul, but I do believe in a spirit that is a combination of the way a mind interacts with a body.

It is true that some (materialists) believe that mind is a phenomenon of the body, but I myself am not presently compelled to believe it. For as much as reason and science can persuasively ‘explain’ the body, to me they fail to persuasively ‘explain’ the mind using the tools of science (logic, reason, mathematical modeling, observation). I am more compelled to treat the mind as different essential or ontological existence than the physical body (as a dualist would). I think the mind connects to the brain, as opposed to being generated by it, but if the brain ‘generates’ the mind, it seems to be more as an energetic conversion from an already existing imaginary essence.

That said, two important things come to mind. :lol

First, I don’t believe a soul is traveling in and out of a body as we sleep, but I do believe it is not only possible, but also there is a likelihood that the brain is receiving mental transmissions that are either blocked, not received, or not properly recognized as transmissions during the conscious waking hours, where there is a high bias toward a reality based on sensory perception. Sometimes my dream images are so detailed and so immediate, that it makes more ‘sense’ that they are transmissions rather than generations.

Second, the fact of the matter is that no matter what the mind is, I HAVE ACTUALLY transcended time and space (according to my individual experience of time and space) when I dream. What I mean to convey is that no matter how mundane or ordinary and existentially unimpressive conscious reality may be, I (the egotistical control center of the body that is typing this message) have all the potential in the world for a transcendent existence of reality as evidenced by the memory of all the fantastic nightmares that I have had.

GATE :XD

EDIT: About Deja Vu, while I think that there could be any number of spiritual or soul related reasons why deju vu might exist, I beleive that it is entirely possible that there is a less impressive explanation for it, namely that it is a psychological phenomenon, and as such it need not have any basis in any actual memory of a particular place or event, merely a feeling that you had said memory before presently wintessing the place or event. Recognize that once you get Deja Vu by wintessing something in reality, your present moment of witnessing is over and you cannot ever go back to determine if you actually had memory of what you are now witnessing before you witnessed it. Therefore Deja Vu is only as mysterious as the origin of all feelings based on psychological phenomena, which are of course mysterious in and of themselves, but in that sense Deja Vu is nothing special.
