HI. I'm still alive and stuff. Why god has seen fit to burden me with CRAP LOADS OF CRAP, I'll never know, but I might as well spill my misery on you poor saps...Er..I mean...Um...

Hi. I'm still alive. MY summer has been full of new and interesting events...

(yeah...that'll do)
:evil

So, again i speak to you and dearly hope that you have not forgotten about me. I haven't forgotten about you. It's that little nagging voice in the back of my head that shouts "HEY, MORON! POST AT THE MAG!" Alas, my summer has not been all rosy and happy.

Shortly after my last correspondence with you, that wonderful lug DARRYLL caused my dad to take pity on his situation in the trailer that we have him staying in, and thus he gave Darryll water. As in he hooked up the hose. this would have been an uneventful happenstance, however, due to my fathers ineptitude at installing said water line, it popped off the trailer and proceeded to not only run our well dry, but once unable to pump any more water, burned out our pump as well. OH, and did I mention that my dad had gone to spend 2 WEEKS in Michigan? MMM No watery GOODNESS. :x Bathing was on Hiatus, but thankfully I could rinse off at least in the local river, which is actualy quite pure and did a fairly decent job of keeping me from smelling TOO bad.
The author at this point became thirsty so left to get a drink

**EDIT** ...and also hungry. (fluffernutters=yum)

So long story short, My dad came home and had to replace the pump. so now we have water again.

Shortly after that episode, I was driving along one day and looking down at my mileage, and then up at my Oil service sticker, I became aware that my car was 2000 miles over due for an oil change. "Well" I thought, "Now is a good time to check out that weird ticking noise coming from my wheel hubs." *que ominous music* So I take my car to my mechanic and I tell him I need an oil change, and while he has it up in the air, I'd like for him to find out what in holy hell is making all that racket in my front end. (I figure it's probably a stick stuck in one of my brake calipers or a loose hose of some type flapping up against the wheel.)
He calls me back two days later.
My brakes...

...are toast.

COMPLETELY. As in "Completely need to be REPLACED."

As in "All four of them"

And not just the pads mind you, EVERYTHING, in the ENTIRE Braking system, with the exception of hydraulic pump and the pedal, need to be shitcanned, and new installations fitted.

Oh, and My front wheel bearings are shot too. (that was what was making the wonderful "ticking" noise BTW)

So I ask him how much it will cost to fix.

"$988"

"Wow! $9.88!? SWEET!-"

"No. Nine Hundred and Eighty Eight dollars"

Me "...*dies*"

So again, Long story short i spent most of the summer being carted around by my GF.
It's getting late so, I'll thrill you with this storys stunning conclusion in the AM. night!

GOD DAMN! this is still on the front page.

(must of been a slow month)

Well, as you can see from my post right here, life...

...has been busy.

But on with ye olde story.

So after being carted around for the better part of two weeks by my GF, she says she is getting fed up with the situation. I'm paying for her gas money, however, the carting of me around is hampering her search for employment. So she suggests something that doesn't sound to bad: He dad has this car...A 89' Volvo 240 DL wagon. and he wants to unload it. I ask how much and she says that he wants $300 for it, however, I can take my sweet ass time paying him for it and that would be cool.

I'm like:

>_>
<_<

SOLD!

So now you are looking at some one with LITERALLY his own car. I'm paying for the insurance, and I paid for the registration. It's a nice car. It has a small dent in the front left fender, but nothing to make the paint chip, it's relatively rust free, (A minor miracle here in Maine), and it has low mileage (for an 89' mind you). it had some small issues that needed to be fixed, but it was deemed "roadworthy" and placed under my possession.

Now here is whats WRONG with it. First and foremost, if you don't wail on the shifter towards the passenger seat as you shift, the shifter might slip a switch and get stuck in neutral. And this is the type of car that does not start unless it is in park. Next, this car is supposed to have a 15.8 gallon gas tank. I noted, however, that when I filled it for the first time, (and the car was almost empty) I noticed that I only spent 25 dollars to fill it.

Now here is some math for you:
If gas is $2.90 a gallon, and your tank is 15.8 gallons in volume, how much money should you expect to spend to fill said tank from an empty state?

Well I did the math and discovered that either my fuel gauge is off, or I'm mysteriously missing 7 gallons from my gas tank's capacity.

And speaking of gas, the car actually has WORSE gas millage than my FORD EXPLORER XL. I think that the fuel issue will be cleared up when I get it back from the mechanic...whenever that is.

Oh yeah, i for got to mention that it still needed work done on it, and it's been almost 3 WEEKS since I was able to drive it. This is mostly due to the fact that the mechanic I have it at seems to be having "family issues" and "isn't really as into doing side projects as he used to be."
This is where the people have me by the balls. See, the repairs are supposedly included in the price of the car, but because I have my Explorer back, I guess the guy fixing it has figured that my Volvo isn't really a top priority. And I can't light a fire under his ass about it or else "He might not work on it at all." The irony is that my Explorer needs to go to a transmission shop to have the torque converter replaced. All ready my reverse gear is grinding and knocking, and it's only a matter of time before it finally s**ts the bed entirely. And I could be driving when it happens. Thats why I want my Volvo back. I can drive that in the summer and fall, and my explorer in the spring and and winter. The longer I drive my explorer like this the more danger I'm in should a component fail.

There are some other things i'd like to mention, but again it is getting late. I'll TRY to post again soon.
Later.

I had a similar situation with my Ford Escort. $1000+ in repairs.

SO! to wrap up this wonderfull story. First let me say that I'm high right now. Not a whole lot mind you, but Darryll has been hooking me up. Or it could be the Nag Champa I bought today. Either way, I've been imbibing as a way to relax, for about a month and a half now. Now, i know what you are all gonna say, and let me tell you this: I have told Darryll that if I ever display signs that I'm begining to get totaly hooked, to cut me off. So I am enjoying with some degree of responsibility and tact.

(yeah, it's the inscents... *changes stick*)

Ahhh....Much better 8)

As august wound down I kept procrastinating about signing up for school again. This led me to signing up a day late, and because of this fact, I only singed up for one class. This is not good, because the class only gives 4 credits and I need 6 for financial aid. Oh well.
Anyway, this class is Introduction to Microcomputer Communications 1. (Basically, it's "Networking") The class is pretty cool. I get to use Linux, and I am learning to FTP to the server from the command line. We also are learning HTML and WRITING OUR OWN WEB PAGES. And you KNOW that having webwork is a great thing to have on a resume...

so that's me up to date with you peeps. I'll probably check in again in a few weeks. Right now, the Nag Champa is activating something so I think I'll peace out.

There is this stuff called marshmallow fluff here in the states. It comes in a white plastic jar type thing. Anyway, imagine you turned a marshmallow inside out and that's marshmallow fluff. Anyway, a fluffernutter is a marshmallow fluff and peanut butter sandwich.

I have a couple of things to report.

First, I have a cell phone. Yeah, i guess i kind of forgot to tell you.

...

Oh yeah, I did. What I DID forget to tell you was the cell phone number! :D

*spoiler'd for security*
1-207-409-2226
Good luck calling me though, I have terrible reception in my house, (where I am right now). Your best bet would be to call me before 3-4 pm most days. I'm out and about on Fridays and Tuesdays, so you can try those days too, (just not after 3 on Fridays- I have to work. Xp)

Also, i have been learning linux and HTML at college. if you click here you can see the fruits of my labors so far. If you know some HTML, I highly encourage you to check the coding, and tell me what you think.
<lame>
*is the proud pa-pa to some code ^_^*

very good staff. it's all the fruitiness that a first webpage should be: headers, lists, definitions, tables, font, links.... and i'm quite impressed you're even learning CSS right off the bat ^___^ it's kind of a CSS world these days, html styles are becoming obsolete.

but damned if your links change size on hover >_< i hate that so much.
when there is other text with it it moves everything. and it's annoying and stuff. grawr. *shake fist* dont' get into these fancy habits of kids liek that. it's no good i tell you!!

(sorry at not reading all this ages ago when you posted it, i'm a little absent too. though i shouldn't be.... good luck with all that ^___^)

It actualy more of a reference page. Therefore, I included the codes to do that to my links for...

you know....

"reference" and stuff.

>_> yeah...

Anyway, we have moved past all that and now are learning PERL scripting. That sh*t's a pain in the izz-ass, let me tell you. >_< Besides that, we just started on forms. We even made a page that changes color based on options input by the user. when we did it in class some one mentioned that it was pretty gangsta.

It totaly was... ^_^.
