I made this topic to find out how many of you create your games by yourself?

I have a few seperate projects for RPGM3 and a little bit of "made" ideas for RPGM2. I have really no choice but to work on this stuff by myself. I have asked my little sister to help "test play" my first project on RPGM3, but she has her own school work to deal with, and I doubt she want's to do that "boring stuff" in her spare time.

But, I will keep on creating at this snail pace of mine and hopefully come up with something really great.

But, I wanna know. Who has help, and who doesn't?
Also, is it wise to create by yourself, or is it better to have help? :?

Edit: Hmm, I wonder if this should've been placed in the RPGM forum?(So many questions. :P )

I have over 20 solid game ideas that I'd like to make for RPGM3 alone. I have about 5-7 for RPGM2 and 2-3 for RPGM1.

I have decided to only work on RPGM3 for now.

I would love to collarborate with others but the way that I want to doesn't allow it because you cannot work on separate editors simultaneously and then combine your work later.

For example, for RPGM3 I have little interest in mapmaking or battle balancing but a lot of interest in story/scenario creating and tremendous interest in event scripting. So would I be willing to work with someone else and let them make the maps and battles and me the events? Well, only if we could do both simultaneously, but the only way we can do that is if I plan to work on one game while they are working on their part of another game. Since this prevents me from go to program events for the same game they are working on whenever I feel like it, I am hesistant to do so, but I don't rule it out.

By the way, that is pretty cute that you have your little sister test play your games. How old is she? Does she like RPGs?

Aww, she's fourteen years old. I gotta love her. :)

I have the same types of problems. I ultimately love the field editor, and I love putting together town maps and dungeons. I think I've got a really good talent for making all kinds of weapons and items. When it comes to making fighting classes and monsters and scripts.....I fall pretty short. Oh well, I guess I've got some practice to get in on those catagories.

Overall, I love these games, it's just sometimes it's a little hard when no one around is interested in them. Hmm....that's what I have this website for. :D

I can only unfortunately get one person to playtest my stuff.

Fortunately, if you ask around you can get some great help online. Lantis and insultobot have helped me tremedously with different aspects of my game, and helped make the final product better.

So, for the most part I'm on my own. However there's a good community of people working here that are glad to help you. Myself included. :D

Is there an interest in collaborative gamemaking were it realistcally possible?

I know that some projects are very personal, but I would love to also work as part of a team on a game.

^Working as a team would be so cool!

I, sadly, don't have a PC(I use the one at my work-shhhh! :P )but soon I should have one in my grasp, then I can really buckle down and get serious with this game making biz.

Also, making a game by myself wouldn't be so hard if I was only focused on that, but I have all these new games coming out for all these consoles, and I want to enjoy those as well. :\

*SIGH*

I've never worked with another person on one game. Gotta rely on myself :P
