Lately I've been compelled to make videos. Mostly because I want to make a few to promote my stuido and game... But I thought I'd start off with a few AMV's first.

Seeing as I'm honestly trying to obtain proficiency, please feel free to let in to me about how noobish they are.

<center><object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/7Hm1jgd_ufE"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/7Hm1jgd_ufE" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
This is the first video I've EVER done. Devil May Cry 4 to Mindless Self Indulgence - Striaght to Video. And man... youtube kind of sucks a bit of the quality durring uploading. Bastards...

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/xw2U8HBQbNw"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/xw2U8HBQbNw" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
RPG Maker Mag > 300?

<object width="425" height="353"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/6NzDU6Zrgno"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/6NzDU6Zrgno" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="353"></embed></object>
Being my favorite game and all, you've thought I would attempt one of these by now. Oh well... out of everything I've done with videos thus far, I think I like this the best. Not sure that's saying much though. ^_^

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/TP8xdE_uZbE"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/TP8xdE_uZbE" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
And here's a video I made that show's that I can't spell "Recognize" and that I'm too lazy to go back and change it. Also talks about Chrono Resurrection and what happened to it.

Pretty good. But I think the beginning scenes
were too fast

You're timings off a little on the punch chords. And it gets stale at parts, but I supposed that because of a lack of footage for DMC4.

Also, the beginning starts up to slow I think....like the speed is fine when it begins.... It just takes a while to get there.

Other than that gj :D

Indeed. I was running out of footage as 1:35 - .34 (don't ask me why the video timer counts backwards when you embed them) is pretty much just a long string of the same fight scene. So I didn't have much to work with.

Hopefully my timing with improve with experience.

well.. yeah what they said. personally i think you did pretty well with what you had. it didn't look.. iunno. awkward or anything.

but it was sort of... pointless? like you know how people will make a vid of them doing a run on something to show of their mad skillz and put a random song on it? it kind of looks like that.

like if you're really getting into video editing maybe go watch a lot of AMV's or game vids. the best ones are ones that have some kind of point or theme or something to them, or that just go really well with the song they are put to.

battlefield 2: http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid= ... tlefield+2
trailer for next vid: http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid= ... tlefield+2

those are two of my favourites hehe. the first one is just sort of a collection of funny little clips.. but it's sort of like robot chicken.. each clip has it's own point.. and the idea of the whole thing is to be random and entertaining.
The second one of course is a parody of the Sony Bravio advertisement with the bouncy balls.
I wish i still had urls for the Xfire WoW vid contest vids.. NOT the super secret danish snacks one.. >_> god that was a horrible video. lots of people liked it though! you see...
but there was a really good michael jackson parody called 'billy maclure' as opposed to 'billie jean' right?
Oxhorn though.. is one of the best WoW vid makers.. imo - youtube account: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=Oxhorn
he's got recurring characters with personalities and speech patterns and everything! and he's done quite a few music vid things. .. ROFLMAO is prolly my favourite. i love it ^_^.. got it stuck in my head and was singing it ALL NIGHT when my brother showed me that one >_< *sigh*

anyway... *cough* good luck ^___^

... hmm. i think youtube did kinda steal a bit of the quality.

iunno. if anything, my advice would be not to be afraid to cut it up more, so you can get sections that fit the timing. it might be worth getting lots of very short sections and the timing of each, then working out which ones are good for explosive parts of the song, which are best for calmer parts, etc.

... then start slotting in sections of the appropriate length, until you have the full song. or not even that; there's no real reason to feel obliged to cover the entire length of the song if you don't have that much material.

i thought it was pretty good, tbh. but i'd consider using much shorter sequences, with maybe a longer one during an instrumental. i'd work out which sequences are appropriate, and like Kajak said get the timing spot on for them.

^_^ keep going though, eh?

and sheesh... you absolutely HAD to get Oxhorn in there, didn't you? *shakes head*

what? he's awesome! ^___^

and also!!! what i learned from finally seeing 300, use a lot of slow motion. that really takes up time and always looks cool =P

...

the slow motion is a good point, actually. if you've uploaded the video to somewhere that isn't youtube, that is.

the Oxhorn is... well...

screw you, Gorchuk.

Updated a new vid. Saddly there's like... one person posting in this thread who hasn't seen it yet... so it's kind of redundant and probably won't get seen all that much. But I'm pretty sure I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. ^_^

Bump...

I just put up another one. This time an AMV of Chrono Trigger... Though it may not be much, I'm kind of happy with the way it turned out.
