In Late January, after the unsuccessful progression that occured between myself and Brenda (from my "Balls Itch" rant), I sent her an email, telling her how I felt, especially in regards to that money-for-kisses bullsh*t.

Quote:
Brenda,

The thing that I said about the hiccups was not particulary what I wanted to say. I would also like to justify my reasoning for acting the way I did on Wednesday. When you were touching me, I had assumed in my head that you were flirting with me, and I was thinking that, one way or another, I would develop the interest in kissing you, prompting you to request yet another 20 dollars from me.

Hence, I really wasn't in the mood for the touching, and simply wanted my space. The money-for-kisses thing is what's been eating me up ever since I spent time with you in Midloathian. I'm asking myself why was it even necessary to do this if nothing else will materialize from it? I'm wondering why I was so naive as to make that agreement to you back in December. Maybe it was the curse of my over-optimism replacing logic. If you believed that you have been used in the short time we've spent talking, throw it away, because I do not feel I have done so. I have tried to be the best friend that I could be, and even more, I have even tried to compensate for the lonliness you've felt for so many months.

I think I said this earlier when we first talked this semester, but I felt very offended when you had said that I didn't want to be your friend (phone conversation, New Year's Day), and I was literally the only person seeing you during Winter Break (when everyone else stood you up). Additionally, I really wished you would have submitted, as I felt I have done every time I've gone and visited you at your home, and let me see Dreamgirls at the Commonwealth 20. Do not take this in the wrong way, but you have taught me how to be more a more assertive individual rather than being passive. I wouldn't have minded going to Skate Nation, but I didn't want to go at that time. Additonally, I had worked 35 hours in the past 3 days with minimal sleep, so I thought you could have been more considerate of the fact that I needed to recouperate from work.

I don't want to drag this message any further, but I'm letting you know how I feel at this point. I still accept that fact that we can't be any more than friends, but I feel used knowing that I had to give you money for physical affection, something I would have merely gone to a stip club for. You can do whatever you want to this email: delete it, save it, burn it, whatever.

You an I can't continue to say "Dropping it" everytime we hit a brick wall. It's time to start acting like brave human beings and not fearful ones.

Have a good semester,
Brandon

What's funny, and kind of expected about this email, is that when I had asked her her comments upon receiving the email, she said some sh*t about "skimming it" and literally put that sh*t behind her, like it was no big thing. Her lack of input and communicatation when I approached her was evidence enough that I shouldn't have bothered with her in the first place. It was also from this email that "Life Lesson" was born (yes, I wrote this song before I broke it off with that girl). I wanted to present an honest tale, recalling my situation and end it with the notion that I would no longer be thsi girl's friend, something I did 10 days later.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again:

Leave these trashcan chicks ALONE. Let them bumfuck to their hearts content. And when the house of cards falls, don't pick up the
gotdamn pieces.

Specifically, she is not so special that you should have been giving her money.

It's a damn shame things are like it is that a good man has to pay for something a random clucktard gets for free.

I hope this realization will not crush your life. Sure, it's bad now but pick up the pieces and move on when you're ready.

I don't think he should pick up the pieces and move on when he's ready. It may sound cold, but I think he should move on now. The longer you spend dwelling on it, the worse things get for you. Just try to keep your life busy and don't think about it. You realize you almost forget everything that happened.

I disagree, KA.

Sure, it's not the easiest thing to do, but you should remember the situation, learn from it, and move on to something bigger and better. Running away from it is easy, but chances are it'll dwell longer.

Either way, best of luck BWire.

Drop her stone cold, please.

The only way I'm paying a woman for kisses... is that I'm not. That's trash behavior.

I hope you find some better chick friends than her. You're worth more than that.:)

If one can get kisses for free then why pay and if one cannot get kisses for free then what is wrong with paying?

WTF? It's called selling yourself out and playing into their hands. Those types of people want to use others to get what they want to achieve their own ends. They don't care about the people paying them. They're just making a profit off of someone who really wants something. I would never cut myself so low as to pay for something I could get from someone who actually cares for free. I don't know what world you live in, but being used as pawn in some b*tch's game is hardly worth it.

And 1ce, I'm not saying don't learn from it. But moving on and not dwelling on it (brooding, crying, moping, etc) for too long will solve anything. Everyone finds my ways questionable, but when you deal with stuff like this for so long, you understand that what I'm saying is right.

It's just best not to do it in the first place. Why sell yourself short just to get something? I understand he may have been desperate, but in all honesty, no one should be desperate enough to pay for a kiss. Get it for free from someone you actually care about it. It means more than just tonguing some chick for a fee.

1) Are THEY the enemy or something?

One gets money/One gets kisses

It is a transaction. Why do you have so much emotion invested in it? Why do you consider it different from any other transaction.

In the example where a guy is paying a girl for kisses, she is using him for money. HE IS USING HER FOR KISSES. What is the problem?

2) Maybe you missed the part of my quote that says that if you could get kisses for free why would you pay for them.

Inherently, there is no shame in paying for kisses, as there is no shame in paying for entertainment, advice, or education, but if it is merely a transaction, one shouldn't expect more for than what they paid for.

What Bo's saying is that she's a prostitute and Bonanza paid the price.

Ugh... maybe I'm just more verbal and emotional about these sort of things because of how I see romance. But the thought of people using others for their own ends is ridiculous.

because that's exactly it.. in this situation his heart IS involved. that's the point. it's a specific situation in Bonanza's everyday life. not a debate on the ethics of prostitution. if you want that you can make a new thread under the proper prerequisites in the proper forum.

Sorry, I didn't realize that ShadowFox1001's heart was involved in Bonanza' everyday life any more than mine.

I'm sure you were aware that your quote of mine was in response to him and not Bonanza, right?

Maybe he just get's special privaleges because he is showing emotion.

I'm sorry for not showing the anger of ShadowFox1001 to convey how my heart feels about the situation. I guess I need to be more angry so that you think I have emotion and am more than someone who wants to argue about logic.

So let me rephase.

Bonanza,
If you pay a girl for kisses, it would be unwise to think there is anymore substance there than the transaction.

I would recommend not feeling bad about what you did. You both got something out of it. If you can get kisses without paying for them, that is the better route, but if you cannot, it is OK. Just don't expect anything from her other than the kisses. I feel bad for you that your feelings are hurt, but I would recommend trying to understand where you both were coming from and move on with your life.

EDIT: By having this approach, you will be less inclined to see women as the enemy, less inclined to have your feelings hurt, and more inclined to feel good about yourself, although others might think you have no feelings when posting in forums.

She was talking about Bonanza because she thought you were talking about him, not me.

Exactly. I thank you Magonians for the input on my situation. I actually feel much better now. The song, "Life Lesson" has become one of my favorite tracks, and serves as a reminder that many people must learn a lesson the "hard way," and hopefully, it never happens again.
