I am shopping for a graphics card to keep up with the new games and want unbiased opinions. I don't know much about computers so keep that in mind. I found this card: NVidia GeForce 6800GS Super 512MB 8x AGP Video Card. My question being, is this what I want and is $200 reasonable?

My PC is HP Pavilion a1700n AMD, Athlon X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2.0GHz, 1GB Ram, 250Gb HDD, Vista 32bit

While it may be king it is a bit too pricy. I am a console gamer first and would sooner buy a PS3. But I still want to be able to handle games like Oblivion on my computer.

I'll find you a good one in a bit, but on that you're being overcharged. Try Newegg.com, or that site Stythe listed.

NCIX is pretty good for prices and selection imo.

But I'm one of them go big or go home types.

I want to get a video card within the next few days but I still have no idea what to buy. I want to play Halo 2 vista, Oblivion and Shadowrun (yes I know I should just get a 360 but that's not the point). I am so lost when it comes to these things.

Is there a card around $250 US that I could buy?
Or could someone explain what the specs mean on a video card?

If it helps I have 2 available PCI slots and 1 available PCI express slot.

::edit::
What about this one?
