The dragon and jackalope, mine. The 3-color tiles, mine. The text and text box, mine. I created this all from scratch, working on it for 3 or 4 hours. And let me tell you, creating my dragon as an 8-bit low-res sprite was not easy.

Creating 8-bit art is fun, though. 16-bit art, maybe not, as I'd have to add more detail (such as, making the grass more than just flat green with a few dark pixels). And the most animation I've ever done were the simple-looking items from Jester's Hunt.

(I just noticed, though, that saving it as a .gif sorta added a few more colors than I put.)

Looks good. I used to make games like this using 8-bit graphics. You'd be surprised how much you can still pull off with only 8-bits.

P.S.: What's going on with the story? It looks kinda' funny.

It's just a joke. The jackalope (a folklore creature) doesn't believe in dragons (mythical creatures), even though he's looking right at one. Part of the problem is Jack's antler doesn't stand out much. Maybe if it were on an actual handheld in motion, it'd be easier to notice. I sure wouldn't mind making a game like this. I don't have the means to do so, though.
