Five Guys is fantastic. I've only eaten there twice, but I really liked it both times.

This. I may not eat meat anymore, but they also make a veggie sandwich(I need to try that!)(http://veggieoption.blogspot.com/2009/1 ... fries.html) and those FRIES. I don't think there's one anywhere near us now, though. When we were living in NKY, there was one apparently 10 minutes away. And there's one in Louisville, but that's very far away from both places!

I actually ate there for the first time in college, and a few times after that. They were located in a plaza pretty close to campus- but the people renting to them messed them over, and they found a better deal... but the Mexican restaurant that moved in was none too shabby either.

Five Guys definitely has some primo burgers. It tastes like something you might make at home if you had an array of veggies and sauces and didn't have a job other than making burgers at home. :p

But Culver's burgers are also fantastic, as I mention in the report. It's just unfortunate that I decided to take a risk than just get a burger, but it was a surprise to you AND me this way. :p

Welcome to another episode of Weekend Foodie! This one is a rare one, because I've headed to MagCon in Chattanooga, TN to lead the convention. There are many food places nearby the hotel, but there's one that we as a group have been to every year since the convention moved to Chattanooga: Fazoli's Pizzeria. This review is going to be rather short since I didn't spend a lot of time analyzing the pizza, nor did I get dessert!

Reviewing Recap
How about your reviewing? Well, to start off, I want to say that I won't be writing any negative reviews. There's many reasons for this. For one, each of these chefs put their ankles into the dishes, so I don't think it's fair to say "Oh, this food sucks and the chef sucks". Another is that culinary experiences are unique for every individual. Just because I might not like the flavor of something, doesn't mean that someone else won't love it. For these reasons and more, here is my rating scale for each individual item:

Weekend Foodie's Choice
I like it!
Not my cup of tea.

Remember, "Not my cup of tea" doesn't mean I hated it. It means it's not a flavor that I, personally, am fond of. Nothing more, nothing less.

Let it also be known that I do not add ANY seasonings to the foods I eat. That defeats the purpose of writing these stories. It’s not telling you guys the real deal. That said, let's get started!

Episode 11 – Fazoli's
Chattanooga, TN
Pizza, pasta, breadsticks and more.
http://fazolis.com/

As mentioned, we always visit Fazoli's when MagCon is going on. It's just easy and who hates pizza? Really? So anyway, we all head over as a group and get ready to get our grub on. We line up at the counter to give our orders. They have pizza, pasta and a lot more stuff. In a way, they're almost like a fast-food italian restaurant. The interior of the place was simple and clean, but not particularly noteworthy. But that's not why I'm here. I order my food, get my tag and sit it on the table so they'll bring my food out.

While I'm waiting, I notice that have one of those cool Coke machines that is basically a soda alchemist's dream, where it takes your selection via a screen and then mixes your drink as it dispenses in the glass. Very swanky.

A couple minutes after I sit down with my cherry vanilla soft drink, my order is ready. Let's commence!

THE MEAL
2 Pepperoni Slicies – between $3-5
Crust, pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce.

Cheese Stuffed Pizza Sticks – between $2-3
mozzarella cheese stuffed inside crust

The flavor of a Fazoli's pie is in a word: solid. The cheese has a nice flavor, the pepperoni has a neutral, slightly zesty flavor, the sauce is nice and tangy and the crust is a standard NY style crust. If you notice the picture, I loaded it up on crushed red pepper because that's how I roll. With it, it tastes much better, but that's not the point. Without it, it's average. But pizza is pizza, so it's always good.

The pizza sticks, on the other hand, were kind of strange. I thought that the sticks were using the same crust as the pizzas, but the taste was markedly different in a way I wasn't really fond of. The sticks came with marinara sauce and ranch, where the marinara was all right and the ranch was, as well. The sauces didn't really make the sticks taste better or worse. It just tasted.

WEEKEND FOODIE SAYS:
Pepperoni Pizza – Weekend Foodie's Choice!
Cheese Stuffed Pizza Sticks - Not my cup of tea

That wraps up this Weekend Foodie. See you next time!
