The Bible is boring and isn't detailed. I like detailed stories. That is... if I actually read them.

heh, not reading much, or at all, is cool. This year i've found myself unable to read anything at all... except for random philosophy cr*p. I guess if i stopped with all the drinking and forum lurking I could actually read a book.

Meh.

... Robin Hobb, anyone? Just throwing her out there.

The Farseer Trilogy was awesome. Also her final trilogy was pretty decent. Didn't rate the intermediate one, though. ^_^

The Dragonlance Chronicles. That is, a trilogy: Dragons of Autumn Dusk, Dragons of Winter Night and Dragons of Spring Dawn (not sure about the accuracy of the english titles).

It's not something veeery classical, and the ending (IMHO) is a bit crappy. But it's the most classical medieval fantasy romance. A must-read for all the people who ever wanted something on the genre un-Tolkien.

I was huge fan of the War of Souls series from Dragonlance... which consisted of Dragons of a Fallen Sun, Dragons of a Lost Star, and Dragons of a Vanished Moon...

So, yeah... I concur with you, Gnasher.

Is that chronologically, before or after the Chronicles of Dragonlance?

Hmmm... like, do you remember how many moons were there in the sky in the book? Strange question, yes, but that's gonna answer it. =P

Just one... but Tasselhoff was talking back about the War of the Lance when there was two... If I'm not mistaken.

TASSLEHOFF! Greatest character of all times. Who had the brilliant idea to invent kenders?

It's after the Chronicles. Chronicles IS the War of the Lance. Tasslehoff is in there too, as a party member. And there were 3 moons, I guess. You're mistaking it with Tatooine's 2 suns =P

I'll definelty look for those books now.

Murr... yeah 3. It's been a while since I've read them.

Yeah, War of Souls goes back to the War of the Lace alot. I bet you'd like it.

Read some White Fang.

Also the Cat In The hat has a somewhat realistic feel to it. Nothing brings great strory telling like Cat In The Hat.

Remember kids: Always smell the pages of a new book that you just bought. "ahhh" That great smell.

About the smell, I agree... it's very very very good.

Back on topic. Has anyone read Battle Royale? I mean the book, not the manga nor the film.
It has everything a book should have. Amazing plot, romance and (almost) love, gory violence scenes, so much character deepness it hurts, unbelievable plot twists, overhelming 600 pages (at least the german translation I read), and it makes you THINK. With every single page.

I mean, it's the most cruel thing an author can do with his readers. He creates these amazingly deep characters, and then kills them off one by one. By the way, that's not a spoiler at all, it's even the premise of the book.
In the end, it makes exactly
40
dead characters.
