OH NOES :P.

I hear there is this new thing on the market called exercise that can fix that. I think you might have to get a prescription from your doctor first though, since it's so new it doesn't have a generic version yet.

Also, did a 10K today, got 51:00, which isn't bad, but a little slower than I was hoping for. Need a longer run during the week. Also being hilly didn't help much.

Just got back from the gym, and I have increased my run/jog time to 6 minutes, so progress has been made. Also, i've just about increased all the weight I lift about 5-10 pounds and it's not as hard as it was 5-6 days ago. So, I'm getting up there slowly, but surely.

Did my run on Thursday (2.2 miles, says Google Maps), and my push-ups on Friday. I was out of town this weekend, so I wasn't able to do my run on Saturday, but I'mma try to do it tomorrow. Seeing as I'll be out of town a bunch, I gotta re-work how I was going to do things.

Just because you're out of town doesn't mean you can't still run :P. I do it every week, though admittedly I go to the same place. Here was my 10K race yesterday http://connect.garmin.com/activity/34181572. Not great, but not too bad for my first 10K.

True, true. All I can say in my defense is that I was frakkin' tired that night (driving up + grad party with the family = exhaustion). And when I'm up at our cabin this summer, I'd need to find a place to run. It's way out in the stix, so there's really nowhere to go unless I want to just run on the dirt roads. As for this one I missed, I might go out right now, depending on how muggy it is and if I can find a pair of shorts.

And congrats on your race! How did you keep track of all of the laps/HR/etc?

Edit: Did the running. Almost vomited, as I forgot that I've been in the car/sitting/having had three frakkin' huge meals today. Lungs hurt.

I think I should redo the first week of this program. :p

Yeah, not good to run after eating for at least an hour (especially after a heavy meal). Also you'll get used to listening to your body so you don't push too hard. When I started I almost felt like vomiting a couple of times, but now after a couple minutes of stopping I feel great.

Around where I go there are a couple of good sidewalk paths, and I typically get out of work around 6 or so, then run for an hour and then eat. I used to just run on the treadmill all the time, but that got boring.

I used this to keep track http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-Forerunner ... 618&sr=8-1 (was $125 last weekend, the 205 is exactly the same just without the heart monitor). A little expensive, but worth it if you want to keep good track of progress and make sure you're keeping pace correctly (something I suck at). I had a cheap $35 pedometer watch, but it definitely was not very accurate. Of course this is only accurate where you get good GPS signal, so it won't keep track inside (unless you buy a foot pod, which seems silly). So might not be worth it to everyone, but this one was cheap as most are like $300, and you get what you pay for over the normal pedometer watches at Wal-Mart.

@ttc - I see! I've been caught up with this fad called housework, which also burns fat but scientists have recently discovered it's not as effective as exercise. It takes a lot of time up and has some nasty side effects like drowsiness and aggravation.

Today I regressed back down to 5 minutes, but I chose a slightly quicker pace on my jog. Could've handled 6, though. Weights didn't increase, but there was less fatigue than the last time. Nasty girls followed me for about 30 minutes.

Well I did a 30 minute workout with a pilates game for the wii. Not thrilled with the game, so I'll go back to using wii fit. Hopefully I'll get another workout tommorrow if it is not too hot. If not I'll get it done on thursday.

I went to the YMCA for about 45 minutes.

The basketball place was occupied, so I could only shoot on the edge courts.

I did a 51 minute workout with the wii fit plus. Some aerobics, strength, and yoga trainning, along with one or two balance games. Still very wobbley on certain yoga poses. Need to work on that. Almost died doing some of the strenght trainning. Put managedd to push through it.

Got the run back up to 6 minutes at a faster pace and increased all the weight that I lifted. Felt good.

I forgot to mention this here, but shortly after my previous post, I went back up to the bike trail. It's 1.4 miles in length. Went one way, mixing in some jogging with the walking when I could catch my breath. (My longest jog is only 0.15 miles.) Then I walked the entire length back.

...Backwards.

I was feeling pretty sh*tty this past week, so I re-did the first week of the HPC and then skipped out on running. Rode horse for around 45 miles or so these past few days, and then gonna start push ups again this week, and re-do first week of running.

Worked out for the first time in 6 days (circumstances). Increased the speed on the treadmill a little more and ran for 5 minutes after a 5 minute warm up walk, then cooled off with another 5 minute walk. Worked out back, biceps, and forearms today... and my eyes. Holy god, one super fine blonde chick was there and then later a sexy gymnastics chick. f*ck my gym mentality sometimes. :(

Body decided to wake me up at 6 a.m.

I went to the Y at 7:30 a.m., did ten minutes on the bike, and then this woman I know from the public library asked me to do a fitness session with her (10 minutes).

Though she said she "slowed the pace" for me (first timer), I was exhausted by the end of the session. I then went to do weights, and left the Y after being there for about an hour.

Been a while since I last went to the gym, so I made sure I would get there today. Didn't run any because I felt like I was going to puke when I got in the gym, but that feeling passed eventually. Did tricep and shoulder workouts and did some ab stuff. Also saw a hot chick with auburn-ish hair. Focus yet again trapped me. I'm going to open my mouth next time. Anyway, I'm increasing in weight and I can tell I'm getting stronger.

Good work bro! Glad to hear you are on your way toward your goals. And even happier to hear hot chicks frequent your gym.

I want to start running a couple trails at White Tank Mountain as well as South, and Estrella mountains. I went looking around for some running shoes and a few people turned me to Vibram Fivefingers. I ordered a pair of KSO earlier this month and I will see how they feel. I just worry they might melt on the streets if I use them around town (it gets hot enough here to melt shoes, believe it or not) and if there's enough air flow being that its made with kangaroo leather.

I am also making an effort to take notice of what I am eating and how much. There was a time not too long ago that I would go to Starbuck's twice daily and some fast food joint. Now, I have been averaging two times a month all this year for both strikes. Next I need to start preparing healthier dinners but its hard with the lack of experience. Just takes time I suppose.

Cooking and preparing healthier meals does take time. Granted I don't do it here at home all the often, but I gotta save food for the rest of the family, too. We gotta penny pinch a bit as well, so I can't go flying off the handle with the food. But just find something you'd like to cook and do it. If you screw up the first time, figure out what went wrong and fix it next time. It's just like anything else, it takes time to get good. Balancing it out is hard, too. But as they say, too much of anything is just as bad as not having enough. You'll get it all figured out.
