True. Fast food is cheap and it's also high in calories, but I find myself going there, though not a lot as I did back when I was younger.

The thing I need to focus on now is my late night eating. I get bored so much that hunger sets in. :(

This. You aren't drinking enough water. Half a gallon a day minimum. That's about 3 20oz bottles or 4 16.9oz bottles. It's easy to buy a pack of bottled water and refill it so you always have water with you or available in the fridge.

Of course, there are other things like eating chicken (without the skin), oatmeal (without too much sugar), yoghurt (the no-fat kind), cottage cheese (also low/no fat), eggs (whites or with yolk, whites alone get expensive though), and try wheat bread instead of white bread (same with pasta and rice). Eat right and you really don't have to exercise (but don't tell anyone that). Of course, exercise does make it go away faster.

damn, and to think all the mental energy i could have saved by drinking bottled water. I've been thinking so hard when i drink it from a cup that sometimes i can't and have to drink juice instead! *sigh* what a waste of life. =(
