GameFAQs' character contest isn't even a contest. You'll end up with Cloud/Sephiroth, Mario, Link, and some other character from a Final Fantasy series making it within the last 8 or 4. It think it's cheap that lesser known or less "popular" characters have to go up against the characters with a MUCH higher fan base so early on. It doesn't even create diversity. The most popular Suikoden character (when they had one) was Luca Blight and I don't even think he won the first round. Like, a Cloud vs. Sephiroth token at the very beginning would be better, in my opinion.

Seeing the same guys win EVERY year is annoying. And I say this because Yuri Lowell got beaten (of course) by (who else) Tifa Lockheart. After playing both games and with the least amount of bias possible, Yuri is a MUCH better character than Tifa. Of course, he lost because the fan base for Tales of Vesperia is WAY smaller than FF7, and if people don't know either, they'll vote Tifa just because she's got huge jugs. But I've noticed that practically all the tales characters got snubbed, even the Tales of Symphonia characters (which ToS is the most popular Tales game in the States). Kratos Aurion got beat by SACKBOY from Little Big Planet. Lloyd Irving lost to an old Nintendo favorite, Fox McCloud. Yuri got sacked by Tifa. Two out of three got to go up against characters they were going to lose to no matter what. Kratos... got beat by some f*cking puppet. Anyway, I think they need to pit the more popular characters against each other in the earlier rounds then trickle down. It'd make it a bit more interesting early on as opposed to watching the same f*ckers win every f*cking year.

I agree, Ness vs Geno was kinda rigged as well, since most of the people who vote on GFAQs probably have no clue who Geno is.

Kindom Hearts characters beat Final Fantasy Tactics characters... and Crono from Chrono Trigger lost to a pokemon.
