i also compared myself against the average female first. but i did it because the average female bar was closer to my bar than the average male. call me simplistic, but eh.

Yeah, I also did it because the bar was closer, but I think part of me thinks that females are more understanding or compassionate so I wanted to be more like them.

:lol

rofl, well the average male and average female bars seem to bear your belief out; according to them the average woman is more understanding. =D

rofl @ SK. Seriously, man. =P

Mine:
Hostile Sexism Score: 3.45
Benevolent Sexism Score: 1.18

Living in a free-for-all, fight-for-your-life environment over here, I just had to put quite a few 0's in some statements regarding women.

I wouldn't have expected your Hostile score to be that high.

It's funny, cause I'd think the label 'Objectivity' is much more appropriate for this score than 'Hostility'. Middle-class teenager culture in Rio de Janeiro is no walk in the park. It's a real jungle. I mean not the Hillary-Duff high-school social prejudice style. Here you are thrown forcefully in a wild culture of uncommitted kissing, alcohol, sex and drugs (usually in that order)... You can either see reality and do your best to be yourself in the middle of this jungle, or you can try escapism and pretend the jungle doesn't exist. Of that latter option are born otakus, nerds, and some other counter-culture devotes. Of the first option are born the 'in' people.

The thing is that everyone's equal in the jungle, men and women, and if you decide to become part of the real culture going on you'll ultimately see the reality of the way the members of the culture live their lives, as opposed to romanticizing the lives of people.

I've decided a while ago that I'd enter the jungle headfirst and fight for survival within it, because I hatehatehate escapism. And now I know the jungle, its inhabitants, and what really goes on in here.

All these metaphors just to say that I've seen women do things that you can't even imagine...
And thus there are some statements in that test that really make me laugh out loud.

I wouldn't say I'm hostile to women, but rather, know their tricks.

Healthy awareness, perhaps, gnash, but certainly not objectivity.
Any view which projects traits on the whole of a race or a gender is patently out of the realm of objectivity.

I've seen some sh*t, I suppose, but I've seen enough beauty to know that in the midst of a jungle there are blossoms and there are pastoral scenes and indescribable, never once seen things which may be discovered if one allows one's self the oportunity.

You may live in the Jungle, but the Jungle does not have all the women in the world.

That's my penny for the fountain, now someone grant me a damn wish.

Or something which doesn't constitute spam, in any case.

Yeah, you're very right there.

Honestly said I haven't had the opportunity to meet one of those blossoms yet. But I'm really too young to think I know or have seen everything.

Its weird because to some men and women that would sound like pure awareness intelligently regarding reality and to others that would sound like pure hostility ignorant of reality (respectfully stated to address the point).

That is why I wonder WHO gets to decide what is sexist?

same way someone would decide what's rasist. It's all a matter of your own POV.

Same way anything is ever decided.

It's probably why I speak in absolutes so often.
1) I'm much too lazy to be politically correct,

and

2) It's a pretty f*ckin amusing way of stating things, really.

I honestly thought i would get higher on the benevolent end. I'm always holding doors open and holding elevators for girls, but I guess there's more to chivalry than holding doors.
Who knew?
