Hello, fellow Magonians. I'm not sure if any of you know this yet, but I recently looked up on Wikipedia that YouTube was lauched on February 14, 2005. Which means the 10th anniversary of the site is near. So to those of you that are on YouTube (like myself). How long have you been part of the site? And don't forget to wish YouTube a Happy Anniversary!

I guess I was around YouTube since like 2006 or 2007? I remember watching nigahiga's and smosh's videos when they were uploading them. Oh! Also the video where a kid makes his friend fall into the river and alllll those remakes. xD

Even though I spend a lot of time at Youtube, I'm kind of "meh" on the whole anniversary thing. To me, it's just a place where I upload videos to. Maybe if I had more of a following there, or if the site wasn't overrun with content ID claiming or site redesigns that don't work, I'd be more excited.

That said, it's hard to remember a time before Youtube. It's like, what did I do with my free time before then? I don't even remember how I found the site. Just that one day in 2007, I signed up so that I could upload a video of the opening of my RPG Maker game. (Which is why my channel is named "GDGaming".)

Basically Youtube is the only video uploading site that gets any real attention. Other places are just too insignificant or have length limits. It drives me crazy that I can't post gameplay footage of a game without the audio for that game getting flagged for copyright. As if I'm trying to claim it as my own original work or something. Or that I'm somehow trying to make money off it.

Basically Youtube is a frustration I put up with so I can continue making the content I enjoy making with my friends.
