I happen to be one of those people who's interested in the sometimes specific topics, and aswell as being a tech guy, I also happen to love knowing the kinds of setup people have for when they do their recordings. Whether it be for LPs, Races, or even general stuff, I thought I'd make this topic to get to know what the forum members of RPGM Magazine use.

And since I started this topic, it's appropriate that I start it off.

Game Recording Equipment:

Elgato Game Capture HD (for recording games off of Console)

OBS (Used for recording games off of PC. Had previous issues with recording but have since changed settings and now videos are encoding properly again.)

XSplit (Used when showing video to Skype users if the video is a group commentary, due to the webcam feature XSplit has when installed.)

Audio Recording Equipment:

UPDATE: 1/9/2015
AntLion ModMic 4.0 (Used as my microphone that's attached to my current headphones. There ain't a single boom mic I've ever used in my life that sounds THIS good. Amazing quality for a unidirectional mic. Older models were omnidirectional, but this was scrapped for the 4.0 model because people preferred to have some form of noise cancellation.)

Sennheiser HD 558 (The headphones I use to attach the ModMic too, via it's magnetic clamp. Best headphones I've ever owned.

Goldwave (Used for recording my voice.)

I use pretty standard stuff.

Video Equipment:

Xsplit I use this for pretty much everything, records PC video very well, as well as audio, and also works very well for streaming.

Open Broadcaster Software A free alternative to Xsplit that I also use on occasion, works pretty much the same.

Audio Equipment:

Rockband USB Microphone: Surprisingly good audio quality for what was effectively a toy. I also have a ghetto rigged desktop mic stand for it.

Audacity Again, pretty standard free audio software, works really well for audio recording and editing.

What I love most about this is that one of my closest buds also uses a Rock Band USB Mic and has a ghetto rig setup for his desktop aswell.

It's as if you two were the same person. DUN DUN DUN.

(Oh and he also uses XSplit when streaming and Audacity for voice recording.)

I remember the last time I used HyperCam.

It was when it was still HyperCam 2. Oops.

As for audio recording?

Rockband mic for recording audio.

Audacity for recording my commentary.

Pnnacle Dazzle for recording consoles, captures both game and audio.

Hypercam3 for recording PC stuff, and in order for it to record PC audio, I have my headphones jack plugged into my microphone jack.

Since I record my video and commentary separate, I use AVS Video Editor to put it all together. No, I do not recommend it. =P

I mean as in microphone, not the program you use to record the audio.

Man, that Rockband Mic is really a favourite among alot, isn't it?

I've never used Hypercam3, but if videos indicate, it seems to be a large improvement.

I haven't used Hypercam since Hypercam2 back in 2007.

I can't really remember why I switched from Hypercam2 to 3, actually. It wasn't out of choice, I can tell you that.

HyperCam 2 is absolute JUNK compared to HyperCam 3. There's never a reason anyone should consider using it in 2014, heading into 2015.

HC2 was free and it worked, and that's why I liked it. At least until it didn't work. =P

While I don't do much recording/streaming I do have the equipment.

AVerMedia Live Gamer HD

1080p Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920

Razer Tiamat Over Ear 7.1 Surround Sound PC Gaming Headset

Component Video-YPbPr /VGA to HDMI Converter

Composite Video AV to Mini HDMI Converter

XSplit
OBS
Audacity
Sony Vegas
Photoshop
Handbrake
Stopwatch

When gaming in groups, I use XSplit as a camera source for Google Hangouts so that all players can see my game with a respectable fps.

I'm also going to mention more specs since if you are recording and gaming on the same rig, you want to avoid slow down and frame skips.

AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor 4.0 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 4GB
32GB RAM (four 8GB sticks)
120GB SSD dedicated to OS and non game software
2TB HDD dedicated to games
(3TB HDD for everything else to keep those other two free to host all software)
7.1 Asus Xonar Sound card

I would also recommend having multiple monitors. That way one is strictly for your recording software while the other can show the game if playing off of the PC or walkthroughs and notes if playing off of a console.

Constantly, I tell myself, "I'll stream again" and yet....

Just a Logitech USB headset. Nothing overly fancy and thankfully I can use Audacity to remove tongue clicks and lip smacking now.
