I figured this would be a fun way for me to share awesome anime music and get some new ones from you guys. Mark if it's an OP or ED.

Put your songs within spoiler tags so that all of them won't try to load at once. Here's a template for the lazy:

Code:
[spoiler][youtube]3LucBfR1w6Y[/youtube][/spoiler]

Here's a few of my favorites:

Outlaw Star OP - Through the Night

Black Lagoon OP - Red Fraction

One Piece OP 3 - Hikari e

I'm gonna try to resist the temptation to plug my favorite animes (*cough*NANA*cough*) here, unless they also have a really memorable theme.

"Only My Railgun" from A Certain Scientific Railgun

Full of drive and nifty instrumentation, it's probably my favorite anime theme to date. As a bonus, I got to dance to it on a Japanese version of DDR a few months back in a Tokyo arcade! How cool is that?

The anime is pretty good - a nice combination of slice-of-life, mystery, and magical girl anime, without most of the hang-ups that normally accompany the MG genre. It's definitely better than "Index," which it spun off from.

"Toki wo Kizamu Uta" from Clannad: After Story

A beautiful, heartfelt theme that takes on a whole new meaning once you watch the accompanying anime. It's a nice song until the soft, restrained verses near the end - at which point it becomes aural perfection. Dyne already gave you the full version, but here's the cut the anime uses.

This is my single favorite anime of all time, and I'm glad it has music that does it justice. Slice-of-life drama has never been so effective.

By the way, the best translation I can make for the title is "The song of ticking time". That would actually be a pretty appropriate title given the content of the series.

"Lullaby" from Now and Then, Here and There

Mellow, sentimental, and close to the heart, this is one of my favorite closing themes ever. To get the full effect, watch it in a fansub so you can see the lyrics, because they are beautiful.

The anime is very powerful, very worth watching, and genuinely well-done most of the time... but despite the sweet aesthetic, the happenings are dark, difficult, and brutal. I feel like the authors had the ambitions of Nazi Germany and similar dictatorships in mind when they wrote some of this stuff. And you can see how this kind of brutality dehumanizes people.

"Dream Island Obsessional Park" from Paranoia Agent

I could listen to this one for days. With an epic grandeur matched only by Civ 4's "Baba Yetu", this song makes me feel like I'm above the world, watching miracles and cataclysms go down like events on a TV show. A cool feeling, indeed.

The anime was very much a psychological thriller, which felt very different to me (and probably to most Americans watching Paranoia Agent on Adult Swim when it first hit our shores). I was like 17 at the time, and I thought it was decent... worth the time it took to watch a dozen episodes. But I have a feeling I didn't appreciate it enough at that age, and would love to hear thoughts about whether it's worth a re-watch.

Good stuff, guys. There's definitely a lot of music I haven't heard in here. Especially stuff like Carnival Phantasm, Love Hurts (I haven't heard that theme from Tenchi Universe in years!) and Only My Railgun (man, this is a freaking great little piece right there!) Let's keep the train going, shall we?

It would help, though, if we made the videos the actual openings of the animes instead of the 4-5 minute+ songs. It would help people maybe get interested in the actual anime, too.

(Also, Wavelength made me look bad with all his extra talk, so I'm gonna talk too! One sentence!)

Shakugan no Shana - Hishoku no Sora

Man, this show is kinda ass, but I made it through season 1 because of that song ^.

Claymore - Danzai no Hana

I recommend the full version. Riyu Kosaka did it.

Record of Lodoss War - Kiseki no Umi

The biggest crime was that the anime this was attached to was crap.

Gunarmdyne, you a K-On! fan, by chance? Awesome!

For, this would easily be one of my favorite OP/ED anime themes in terms of both the visuals and the song itself.

K-On! - "NO Thank You!"

And, of course, the ED theme to Air TV, "Farewell Song" ->

I usually don't watch the openings or closings, and usually don't enjoy them either. Here's an exception:

I love the opening to Samurai 7. Sorry but the youtube tags wouldn't work on this one. But here is the link.

Ah, yes, that song from Bubblegum Crisis. I remember seeing that one in the previews all of the time back in the days I owned many anime on the ol' VHS. It always pleased me to hear it, even though I never actually saw the show itself.

I didn't mention an OP theme in my first post, so, here's one I always really liked, from a nice little short anime series called Ruin Explorers ->

Oh dude, I haven't heard that theme from Ruin Explorers in many years. As soon as I heard the first 5 seconds, it all came flooding back.

Here's a classic one from a good series no one ever saw, when vampires were still awesome:

Night Walker - Gessekai by Buck Tick

One of the best ever.

Gatchaman OVA "Let's Fly." It's so inspiring and it was coproduced by a couple members of Earth Wind and Fire.

Wind, the first ending Theme for Naruto.

Ikkitousen was a very...well drawn, ecchi-type series. Its opening theme makes me dance.

Very good stuff, Bonanza. I remember the one from Gatchaman and it's so cool. Along with Wind and dat Ikkitousen!

Here's a couple more from Sousei no Aquarion, which are both awesome. Never seen the show, but I might have to now.

Sousei no Aquarion OP 1 - Genesis of Aquarion

Sousei no Aquarion OP 2 - Go Tight!

Never got to watch Sousei no Aquarion but I loved the music.

Full Metal Panic Fumoffu is so dang hilarious, and the ending music is just so soothing.

Ah My Goddess made a comeback into a two-season anime series in the late 2000's, and the first theme song sounds amazing.

Gantz...the anime was a mixed bag, but the theme song is just bananas.

Finally...a rare gem from Naruto. The same girl who did a later Naruto theme song "Little by Little" did another song which stays stuck in my head.

Solty Rei OP1 - Clover

I've listened to this so much and I've never seen a single episode of Solty Rei. I should probably fix that.

Outlaw Star in a great classic series and that opening is imo one of the best openings ever. It's just so pumped!

Outlaw Star is one of the few amines that I can still tolerate. Zoids (with Bit and Liger Zero) and Gundam Wing are the other two that I know of.
