I'm trying to learn to digital draw/paint. I have no artistic ability or experience, so it's been pretty tough for me to get started and continue. Seeing ugly looking stuff isn't encouraging, and frequently I'd like to stop rather than embarrass myself. But, I want to continue and get better.

I haven't been at it for very long, as you can no doubt tell from my below work. Right now I'm trying out different things, attempting to build fundamental skills.

This topic will basically be an art dump and a place for me to post my progress. Here's some of my work, in chronological order:

I like the trees and the first mountainscape.

Thanks for the comments.

Here's my latest work. It's a wolf. Not without significant problems, but it is the first living creature I've ever drawn.

I saw your wolf and immediately thought of Falcor from the Never Ending Story.

But for someone with "no artistic ability" I'm genuinely impressed with what you have. I really liked the mountain range pictures at the end of your first post. Keep up the awesome work.

Thanks. :blush

I'm very self-critical and something of a perfectionist. Probably comes from being a programmer. Art is much less precise in many ways, and perfection isn't quantifiable like it is in programming. Though, that's not to say there isn't some degree of art in programming.
