Whenever I see Seinfeld on TV, I'm always sure to change the channel quickly. Not because I am tired of it. On the contrary, I leave before it can suck me in for a half-hour of laughs.

The entire cast just clicks. Primary characters, secondary characters, one-shot characters. They're all fantastic.

And from Seinfeld, we got all types of phrases such as:
No soup for you.
Shrinkage
Yada yada yada
Man hands
Master of your domain

and so on.

Who else is a Seinfan?

Seinfeld is the second greatest TV show of all time, second only to the Simpsons.

It is, however, by far the most rewatchable show ever, well beyond even the Simpsons.

Seinfeld puts every sitcom to shame. It's that brilliant.

im a big seinfeld fan. i am the one who usually can summon a quote needed for a particular situation that sparks hilarity.

the show about nothing, the magic lugie, and assman are also great.

I've never watched Seinfeld but if you grab all the posts here and change 'Seinfeld' to 'Friends' I completely agree with all of you.

I'm aware that Friends owes a lot to Seinfeld, but these things you say you feel with Seinfeld I feel with Friends.

I will agree that Seinfeld is the second greatest TV show of all time. However, I put LOST first instead of The Simpsons. I have all 9 seasons on DVD box sets, so I can pull out a favorite instead of hoping a good one comes on TV (I don't watch TV, anyway, but....what am I saying? They're all good).

I personally think the season ratings go as follows:

Season 4-This was the one with the story arc of Jerry and George making the "Jerry" show...this season was meta before meta was even in the vocabulary. This season also included the classic episodes The Bubble Boy (the Moops), The Contest (I'm out!), and The Outing (Not that there's anything wrong with it).

Season 5-Two of my all-time favorites were in this season, The Marine Biologist (which got the biggest sustained laugh in Seinfeld history) and The Hamptons (shrinkage!). Also includes The Opposite (I'm George...I'm unemployed and I live with my parents), and The Puffy Shirt.

Season 3-This was the first season where the show got into its rhythm, and includes The Parking Garage (which seems to be a more ambitious version of the previous season's The Chinese Restaurant), The Subway, The Alternate Side (These pretzels are making me thirsty), The Cafe (Babu Bhatt's first appearance), and The Boyfriend (the first hour-long episode, and includes the most famous guest star up to that point in Keith Hernandez, and the most remembered mention of Vandalay Industries).

Season 7-This was the season in which George gets engaged to Susan, and other than that story arc, there are a number of classic episodes, including The Soup Nazi, The Rye, The Wig Master, and the two hour The Bottle Deposit.

Season 9-This season, while lesser in my opinion, gets a reprieve, due to the brilliant The Finale and the brilliant in concept, lacking in execution The Betrayal (the "backwards episode"). Also aired this season were The Serenity Now, The Merv Griffin Show (I don't remember the last time I laughed so hard at a belch), and The Frogger.

Seasons 1 and 2-These are both on one box set, as the first season was only 6 episodes and the second was only 13. Not BAD per se, but obviously the show was still finding its rhythm. In my eyes, the only noteworthy episode was The Chinese Restaurant, the episode that best showcases the "show about nothing" conceit of the series.

Season 6-Really pretty subpar in every way. There are a few good episodes, though, most notably The Beard (She's bald!), The Label Maker (regifting), and The Jimmy (the genesis of the, "George is getting upset/George likes spicy chicken" lines that came later).

That's my take on the show.

It's probably the finest sitcom I've ever seen. It has real psychological acuity in its humor, and all of its characters are beyond memorable.

P.S.
Every time Kramer comes in the door I think life could be all it's cracked up to be.

P.S.S.

Seinfeld is so pervasive, Kramer didn't flag spell-check.

My absolute favorite episode is the Soup Nazi episode.

It's so wonderfully random and awesome all-around. I mean, the soup is so good, Jerry
pretends he doesn't know his girlfriend
! That is just too funny.

I think one thing leading to its success that is often overlooked is that it is so well acted, even better than most of the best dramas. Lesser actors wouldn't be able to deliver the nuances of the humor.

My favorite part about The Soup Nazi episode (after having seen it so many times, the "No soup for you" loses its humor a bit) is the gay thugs who rip off the armoire, and Kramer is scared ****less of them.

I'm a Seinfeld fan, I'm known to relate everyday events to episodes of Seinfeld when I'm with my friends.
