Earthbound is indeed something else. I feel the main reason the story is so much more relatable and whatnot, is because Itoi is a writer first and foremost. Which is kinda cool.

The fanbase is just absolutely tremendous. I have to say, there is never going to be another group of fans like the EB ones in terms of dedication and sheer passion. Something just clicked for so many kids. It's a shame Nintendo isn't going to release Mother 3 here. But if they somehow settled the legal stuff and got EB on the VC, so many kids could experience the magic.

Actually, I think where he typed "Earthbound" he meant to type "Turtles in Time: Reshelled".

But seriously, Earthbound is a pretty memorable experience. Four-Side is the best of all eight towns.

I played a little bit of mother 3, its really depressing(In a good way, tugs at you). Get the rom/translation and play that after awhile if you want.

I have it. But, it'd still have been nice if it was made possible for EB on the VC. Sucks. I mean, a lot of more niche games got a second breath on there.

I beat M3 like, a year or two ago? It was an amazing game. I'm surprised how well it maintained its humor but had as serious a tone as it did.

Thing of interest?

There are only 3 reasons the game isn't on the VC, and it was just about primed to release when NCL gave a no-go to NOA. NCL = Japan's Nintendo HQ.



The biggest problem is apparently the first thing, since it sounds like a direct riff of "Won't Get Fooled Again" by The Who. Why this wasn't a problem when the game was originally released here, I'll never know. It's not The Who wasn't relevant in the 90s. Maybe it's the sue-happy nature the world keeps evolving more and more into, and the last thing Ninty wants are more litigation fees. Sucks hard.

Interesting note, "The Chuck Berry battle song"(New Age Retro Hippy battle music basically) is said to not be allowed either, but I think it's a poor excuse since well... Rockin' K.K.

At any rate, I hope they can eventually sort that junk out and eventually get it out. It's ridiculous they didn't get the go-ahead to edit those few things as is.

No, that's absolutely BS. Like seriously. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. You can copyright a song, sure. But that copyright can't cover everything that sounds similar to it.
