Well, E3 2012 is over. What are your games of show?

I can't believe it, but I think this is the first year that a 3rd party actually won E3. The Big 3 basically beat themselves.

Microsoft's conference was one of the most boring things I've ever sat through. Besides Halo 4, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil 6 (I guess?) and the South Park RPG (and the creators themselves lampooning the show), this show was pretty bad. SPORTS TV SHOWS KINECT. Do everything with your 360 except play games on it is the message, apparently. The RE6 guys looked completely bored with the game they were showing off. D

Sony's conference was better, but that's relative. Showing of The Last of Us and Beyond: Two Souls were quite appreciated, along with God of War 4. PlayStation All-Stars looks like an exact copy of Smash Brothers. I would have thought it would have been a bit more unique to try and avoid that label. They pretty much completely ignored the Vita. That Storybook segment made me want to shoot myself in the face. C-.

Nintendo's conference, to me, was partially saved by my love for Pikmin. Pikmin 3 being on stage made my pants explode. When Reggie came out and said they were gonna show off 23 games for the Wii U, I thought that they might be actual new games. Silly me. Most of them were multi-platform ports that I have already played or would be available much cheaper on a current-gen system. The reveal that the system can support two GamePads at the same time was easily my MEGATON moment of the show. Showings by New Super Mario Brothers U, New Super Mario Brothers 2, Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Lego City: Undercover and ZombiU made Nintendo's conference a whole lot more palatable to my tastes. However, it was completely lacking in surprises. C+

Games of Show:
Pikmin 3
Watch Dogs
Tomb Raider
Halo 4
Paper Mario: Sticker Star
New Super Mario Brothers U
Project P-100
Lego City: Undercover
Beyond: Two Souls
The Last of Us
South Park: The Stick of Truth
Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch

Lantis, please stop calling Beyond: Two Souls "Quantic Dream". Quantic Dream is the developer of the game.

Conferences may be over but show floor coverage continues on. I'll post opinions on games after seeing more of the coverage. For instance, Transformers is looking pretty good and I would have ignored it otherwise.

I pretty much give all my opinions on the videos in that post.
