I think this is pretty cool technology. I have no doubt devs would get creative with this.

So is no one going to call them out on using Fight On as the music track for reeling in a fish? I almost expected the victory fanfare afterwards.

Anyways, this tech is not really that new. In arcades they have this in racing games and such as force feedback. But this is much better than just a rumble feature... assuming that the controller is comfortable on your thumbs. I can actually see it being a bit uncomfortable after a while. Maybe they need caps to put on top to round off the top of the analog stick in case you don't want to mess around with that kind of stuff.

But yeah, pretty cool way about getting force feedback in home consoles.

I was half expecting you to not like this idea at all. Jaw dropped.

There's a huge difference between what is essentially a glorified rumble pack and a controller that expects you to flail your arms around like a moron.

I getcha. I thought rumble was pretty underwhelming when it came out, but then it grew on me more. I think it went extinct during the 360/PS3 era... or else I'm mistaken possibly on the PS3 front, since I barely play ours.

I do think this is kinda cool. My first thought is actually feeling how the ground would feel while crawling in say, a Zelda game. The fishing game is also a pretty cool idea. I'd play it. I'm surprised Square hasn't hopped on them yet either. It's all they have left! Certainly not any good game ideas.
