The Series That Captivated My Imagination And led Me Down The Fantasy Line To My Eventual Love Affair With RPG's (Though I have always counted Zelda's intricacies to numerous for it to just be action/adventure, I feel adventure/RPG works best.)

And I continue to love them, even if Windwaker was a divergence variety is welcome-and I Await The Newest Installment With Impatience And
Eagerness.
Favorite Zelda's:
1. Link to The Past
2. Ocarina of Time
3. Zelda II: The Adventures Of Link

Give Me Your Thoughts.

Ocarina of Time, more specifically Version 1.0. Later versions kinda iffed me.

Wind Waker was good until the fetch quest and the puppet boss near the end.

I'm old school.

Zelda II.

I cant remember weathor it was majoras mask or OOT, (which for the longest time I pronounced "OR CAHN AH" I guess I missed the "r", anyway...)
I don't like those. The reason for this is that they were on the N64. I know it was nindendo, but DAMN if they ever port those to the PS THEN I would like them. It has less to do with me liking on console over another, it has to do with the crappy N64 controller. The thing blew hard and now in light of reason, most people are comming arround to this fact. A game that is uncontrollable IS NOT and CAN NOT be "fun". For this reason, all N64 Zeldas SUCK. It's that simple. I'm sure they had wonderful storylines and all, but the controlls were simply UNACCEPTABLE.

I could also comment on the fact that Zelda is ABOUT THE 'EFFIN TRIFORCE (OMG) and with the exception of links awakining (which had it's deviation from this formula justified by the fact that it was more of a Gaiden) I don't see why they felt that they could get away with those games. They arend "zelda" games any more. they are all about Link.
I can make a simmilar coment about Metroid actualy. As of Metroid 4 all the metroids are DEAD (as far as we know) so if nintendo ever makes more non Prime "Metroids", they shouldent have "Metroid" in the title. It would be Samus dooing other things. Bounty hunterish things. I think then the title sould reflect the shift in emphasis.

(though I should note that any one with eyes and half a brain after playing Metroid Fusion can infer that the Chozo CREATED the metroid race, and since the Chozo were space fairers, it is logical to assume that where ever there were Chozo, so there were also Metroids. Way to open end it Nintendo! :D)

Staffy goes retro...Alright, well you say that you love old school and Zelda 2 but do you mean Zelda II: The Adventures of Link (Zelda #3) or The Legend of Zelda the actual 2nd Zelda and first for SNES. Personally The Adventures of Link gets it hands down, but the best will always be (the new one could prove me wrong) Link to the Past (#4).
(I always thought 64 controls rocked, but hey-I like Gamecubes and X-box's big ones as well so maybe I'm just weird.)

But I do agree it's stupid that they have dropped many of their defining premises and held on to the name, still great games just need to stick to task.
And If you have a Gamecube or find their controls acceptable try the remake of OoT on it, it's rare because it was distributed with Windwaker pre-orders but OoT is awesome and it's graphic quality and game quality were better even then Sony's at the time and is still appealing beyond normal quality. The games good and if you love Zelda it's worth a try.

Look at the tilte foo. TLoZ:ALttP is ZELDA 3.

I said zelda 2. As in "the adventure of link."

Sure it whent in a diferent directionas far as gameplay, but all those 3d zeldas have mor in comon with THAT game than the 3/4 over head veiw that the original zelda, Zelda 3 and Zelda 4 (links awakining) had.

Ocarnia had the Triforce, except only in a couple cutscenes, and when Link earns that mark on his hand for the first time. And of course, Zelda played a big role in it all.

And Wind Waker didn't have the Triforce, but Zelda was a focus at a couple points in the game.

True though that Majora's Mask didn't have the Triforce or any focus on Zelda (save for a quick flashback near the beginning). It'd deviation though is justified by the fact that it was more of a Gaiden. I mean, Nintendo was even calling it Zelda Gaiden before it got its official name.

Yes, the N64 controller sucks. But I never had trouble with control using the thing. IMO the N64 Zeldas played pretty good using that thing.

I think the GameCube's controllers are great. Aside from the tiny D-Pad that is.

The GC controller was the right move for a change.

I tend to think that nintendo is getting senile in it's old age. Some one needs to tell them that as far a video game consoles are conserned, its best to Keep It Super Simple.

I get some of that to...Wonder what Revolution will do...if it'll bomb. Kinda sad though Nintendo and me go way back so I'm rooting for 'em at least. And the revolution is supposedly going to have an online library of all Nintendo games ever-If so I'm buying it for damn sure.

But that just isn't Nintendo's style. They're revolutionaries, they like to try new things, not only things that "sell".

Plus, the triforce WAS in WW. You spend a good portion of the game constructing a triforce piece, for criminy's sake.

Nintendo will continue to use Link in more games, and there's nothing anyone can do. I thought Wind Waker was a breath of fresh air. This is why I hardly play PS2 action games- they're pretty stale to me.

Oh yeah. I guess I spend so much time hating that fetch quest, I forget what it was I was fetching for in the first place.

:XD

Fetch quest indeed. I used a damn guide, it was that annoying. I loved the other bits of the game though.

It was one of the first System games to be immersive for that matter, not many before that. Esspecially not for Nintendo...Let's see, that was '98 so: FFs, Lunar 1&2, and a few other RPGs are the main things that I would call immersive before this. It was a pioneer in "Fluid Worlds" (world with areas completely connected and open for exploration) and innovative in the controls to the point of making up for any possible controller lackings for me.

I'm banking on Twilight Princess being the sh*t to, I mean you can turn into a freaking wolf-tight graphics and all. It's gonna be Gamecubes farewell fanfare in the same FF12 is for PS2, always good to have another Zelda fanatic though. Welcome. (I hated your sub-boss fight in the Water-temple, took me forever for some reason...as a matter of fact, I plain hated that temple)
