Level Up!

Bloons 4

I often slip by newgrounds to mess around with whatever new games are out there. And there have been VERY few that I have really liked. The last time I remember liking one enough to post about it was Super Mario 63. Which was an amazing Mario fan game as it was as large and as challenging as a real Mario title.

Anyways, I've ran across another that I've really come to like. Level Up! sounds like a pretty crappy title for what it really is. You level up everything you do. You can level up how fast you run by running... how high you jump by jumping... how much damage you can take by getting hit, ect. It's kind of similar to the way you level in Fina Fantasy II. But it's a platformer, not an RPG. After each day, you fall asleep and fight your nightmare. And after you awake... you are at level 1 on everything. You keep any abilities you bought and all gems you've collected. And you seem to level up quicker too. But ultimately, you are trying to unlock your memory at a computer terminal. Oh, and if you get all abilities and find all the gems (100%) you unlock a demo for this guys next game... quite worth it. I've gotten 100% twice. And after taking forever, I unlocked the 56th and last codex.

Bloons 4 is part of a series of tower defense games. I'm not a HUGE fan of the genre but Bloons has always been fairly awesome. Bloons 4, however takes it to an extreme level. There are now ranks for killing so many enemies (balloons) and each rank unlocks something else... all the way up to rank 31. The only problem with Bloons 4 is that they allow you to BUY cheats and maps with real money. But you can get the full experience without them. There's quite a few game modes and difficulties, and it's really easy to passively play. But if you are into tower defense games, you'll want to play this. I'm rank 56.

I finally got around to playing Level Up and its amazing. I am playing now and I am just under 90% completion. There's a few more gems to find, one more mailbox and like 5 codex entries. I'm going for one hundred.

Well, I just got 100% everything. The demo for the next game was really cool too.

Bloons rocks.

Had my obsession with it come and go a while back, where I built up a defense on apocalypse mode on the expert track and left the game running all night. It was, like, round 300something when I woke up and hadn't lost any lives yet.

Good old wizards.

I love Bloons as well. I actually played both these games a lot when you made this topic Lantis, I just never posted about it. I wish Newgrounds got more fun games like these more often, I'm usually drawn to the puzzle or physics based games.

Actually, SK and I still play bloons from time to time. I did what you did, Stythe, and left it running over a weekend. I ended up losing at some point, but I can't really pinpoint when that was. Good times though. And I just checked... no word on that sequel to Level Up. I thought the demo for it was awesome too.
